I love tarro....and i know where i can get some poi but i am not that sure how its made.... i think its just pounded.
i also love tarrot chips... i bet they would come out great in the dehydrator !
has anyone made them?

Did an ask.com search (which I'm thinking others can do as well) and here is what I got:
The recipe for poi is very simple. Cook a taro root, or corm, in a traditional underground oven for several hours. Using heavy stones, pound the cooked root into a thick paste. Add water and -- voila! -- you've got poi.

ah.... so poi is cooked.... well.... i guess thats that then. i wasnt sure if it was. i guess i can try making taro chips...i do LOVE those... thanks R.

Thanks, I've been wondering about this myself. I've had one last bag of frozen poi in my freezer for probably a year and it's so rare here, I hate to throw it out.
