I'm not exactly sure that this is the right section to post this in! I'm hoping so!
For greens like kale and spinach, I'm wondering how to go about measuring them. If the recipe calls for one cup chopped, do i chop it and then place it in the cup lightly or do I put as much in the cup as I can? I'm also curious about this for the sake of finding out how much calcium I'm intaking. About how many large kale leaves usually fit in a cup or how many grams are in a single outer kale leaf?
Thanks.
Peace everyone.

Why waste time measuring your greens? You could spend that time eating those greens!
Seriously, I cannot stress the following enough:
- You can't eat too many greens.
- Eat as many greens as possible, as much greens as possible, all the time!

As for recipes:
1 cup greens, chopped = measure one cup greens, then chop them
1 cup chopped greens = chop greens, then measure

With most raw recipes you can adjust the amount of greens if it's too much/little, so just experiment. Play with your food :D .

yeah ...I know I should eat them instead of counting them, but I'm just so worried about calcium and things and I feel better if I know how much I'm eating. I'm just not good at listening to my body, perhaps because I just don't know yet. I mean earlier I was craving one of those huge sausage things that are served on a bun like hot dogs. I wouldn't even touch that nasty thing when I ate all cooked. For some reason I wanted one so bad though and I can't understand why! Anyway, what I'm trying to say is thanks so much for taking the time to advise me. I'm just going to go crazy with greens now and we'll see how that goes. I really do like those smoothies :)
