View Full Version : What blood tests should I get done?

I lost my first blood test form that my doctor gave me so I called and asked for another one. I asked for a 'Whole profile' blood test (like I had before) from my doctor and she sent me one that just tested for B12, ferritin, and a complete blood count. So I phoned my doctor (receptionist) and they said to just mark off the ones I wanted tested - Woohoo. I've been in longstanding with my doctor and she knows I am responsible.

Here is what the test paper says on it.

Glucose - Random - Fasting
HbA1C
TSC
Creatineine (eGFR)
Uric Acid
Sodium
Potassium
Chloride
CK
ALT
alk. Phosphatase
Bilirubin
Albumin
Full choresterol
Prothrombin Time (INR)

I could tick off any or all of these.

There is a section for "other tests" and I know my other papers said calcium and magesium. Most of the sections were ticked off before and I don't remember which ones. I'll likely tick them all because they are all very important, especially on a diet like this. I've had tests done like this in the past and I'm quite sure everything has been tested so far. The great thing is that we can compare omnivore to vegan to raw vegan results, which could be interesting.

Would there be any other tests in 'other tests' I could get done?

It would be nice just to see a 'ball-park' figure of how my body is responding compared to other ways of eating. I'll be posting all results for the forum. This could be quite interesting as I only eat whole or blended raw fruits, veggies (and a tbsp of seeds per day max). No oils, nuts, dehydrated foods, spices, health products of any kind, skin products...
