Goal! Yes! I want to stretch everyday! :D Well, everyday this month, & I'll see if I want to do it for 2x or 3x a week instead next month. For now, I got to get it engrained into my body to do it!

Ok! What about everyone else?!!!!

Rebound for 10 minutes every day, and whatever else I my body wants to do in addition, like play with my kids at the park!

Oh I am sooooooooooo in!!!! I do yoga twice (sometimes three) times a week. I go to the gym daily and do weights twice a week (same day as yoga).

I also walk my dogs - but need to do that more - as the kids are doing most the walking at this time.

So... I'm in!!!

Today I did 25 minutes on the Arc Cardio machine.

I had a great time working outside yesterday with my sister, my niece and nephew and even their little doggie, Angel. We had a really great walk that had some nice inclines and even stopped and threw in some lunges, calf raises and that kind of stuff. I was happy to have met my April goal last month. So this month I'm increasing the challenge and my May goal is to be able to jog 15 minutes on the treadmill by the end of the month. In the past, I've worked out for 30 minutes or more but always did intervals of walking/jogging by switching off every two minutes. Other than that, my goal is to also focus on increasing strength and endurance and not to concentrate so much on time. Sometimes I can get caught up into numbers by thinking "I only did 50 minutes today, I got to get in ten more minutes or else"...well, there is no "or else" and I have to remind myself to just focus on quality and not to always get caught up into how much time I've put in because I don't want exercise to turn into a chore and I know if I get myself psyched into a "all or nothing" mentality with my exercise (like I have in the past) then that's exactly what's it's going to end up being...that's what I'm doing this month. I didnt meet my goal of learning two new way to exercise and have fun and so I'm rolling that over this month also..okay...enough chatter from me

Have a great day...check in later

I feel really embarrassed posting, since after declaring my commitment in
April,I fell off the exercise wagon for a few weeks due to intense stress and other factors...although I did mostly maintain my diet and continued to lose some more weight.

I guess I was pushing myself too hard with all the intense exercise, and sort
of crashed and burned, and was recently diagnosed with adrenal fatigue as well as some other hormonal imbalance stuff.

I decided to back off the 'hardcore' intensive aerobic and weight training,
and have been doing yoga several times a week, brisk walking for a few miles
most days, and attending bi-weekly bellydancing classes.

Unfortunately,I had an accident day before yesterday, and broke my tailbone!
Talk about painful!

However, today is my 34th birthday, and I am determined to be positive and start over once I've recovered-then watch out!:)
I'm determined to get back on track and reach my fitness goals.
I still enjoy reading all your wonderful inspiring posts-you ladies rawk!!!!!!:D

Hi tepiglet!

Don't feel embarrased about anything. This quest to live a healthy life is a ongoing journey and we are always learning..that's my take on it. Keep learning and keep on moving. I can relate to what ya said...that's why I'm focusing on not getting caught up into a "all or nothing" mentality with my exercise. That's what I loved about my decision to embark upon this raw journey..I was freed from restrictions and counting calories and all that...I don't want my exercise to become something I dread...

Sounds like you've been busy. I'm still looking for a great bellydancing workout video that I can do at home since I don't know of any classes in my immediate area. Take it easy...just reading about that tailbone accident sent a little quiver through me..that's gotta hurt..focus on healing. In the meantime....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_111.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxmk762MSUS)

Thanks for your kind words and birthday wishes!
You are very sweet.
I always enjoy reading your posts, you are very inspiring.
I relate so well to everything you said.
Yeah, the 'all or nothing' mentality is what gets me every time.
I think a lot of the pressure I was putting on myself was due to the fact
that I'm going home to Illinois this summer for the first time in years,
and wanted to be in great shape by then-although I only have maybe 15
pounds or a little bit more to go-and was stressing about the fact that I'm nearly at my goal, and time is fast approaching for my trip,so it's crunch time
so to speak, and I got a bit overwhelmed and felt drained.
Maybe breaking my tailbone is a blessing in disguise in a way, because I'm
forced to relax and take it easy, and I just need to heal and stop trying to
be a perfectionist, and just focus on healthy eating for now.
I need to stop and smell the roses,so to speak, and appreciate the fact that
I've already lost 70 lbs since the fall,and went from a size 18/20 to a size 7/8.
Now THAT is something to celebrate!:)

Again, thank you for your warm wishes.
Btw,I won't be bellydancing for quite some time, but I'll ask my teacher what
videos/dvds she recommends,so you can start shakin' and doing the shimmy!:)

Have a great day!
I'll still be checking in from time to time,as I heal and become more mobile.

Late night check in for me...

I can't remember if I posted anything on yesterday...went to the gym for a while and did some walking/jogging on the track upstairs; also did a little of my tae bo bootcamp workout dvd..

Today, I didn't do much besides a very small amount of walking; a cousin of mine got married today and we were pretty busy with that event...

Sundays are usually off days for me unless decide to do something like stretching or pilates

Welcome tinystrawberry and dani_b!!!

Ok, Im in, OMG Im in! ;) Hi everyone!

I joined a gym the other day and found it hard to leave! It was like, "there's so many toys to play with!" I did about 30 minutes of cardio broken up with some strength training. I have to say, I dont really feel it though! I would have thought I'd be hurtin' today.

I am planning to go a couple times a week, but as I want to see some fat burn quickly, perhaps I'll try for three visits a week? That seems reasonable to begin with.

Today--I'll try for some walking after work. I'm so excited!

Hey Everyone..

Been missing in action since Sunday. I recently came off of a cleansing type of fast and went back to eating..Saturday night a toothache kicked in that just wouldn't stop...still hasn't..I have tried everything and I came THIS close to going to the ER tonight to get seen just to get some sort of antibiotic...and if you knew me and know that I don't do any kind of medicine then you'd know just how deep the pain was.... it seems to be on hiatus for the moment (keeps coming and going)... What I do do is herbs and I might have to shop for some....

So I finished some major projects which required me to stay up for 48 hours; thanks to the toothache this was not a problem:D ..I'm going to rest and give it all I got tomorrow....

Now that my trainer is history at the moment I am doing well on my own. My pulled hamstringS he helped create and then my sore ankle are all better. Chiropractor and acupuncturist helped make that happen. Nothing else with stretching and rubbing Sombra on did.

I tested hamstrings and ankle on treadmill last night. Ran on the treadmill for 20 minutes. Would have aimed for 30 but my bladder was calling and it was a challenge to hang on and walk the remaining 10 for a total of 30 cardio. It sure helps to have the right shoes and running on treadmill with Nike running shoes with gel. Trainer helped tons by teaching me how to do exercises properly and using machines. It was a big plus for months besides lots of $ it cost too. No complaints. Husband thinks the new body design is due to yoga. I didn't argue with him as he paid for most of it and didn't know. He didn't ask, I didn't tell! Both of us won.

Walking doesn't burn calories for me so I am aiming to run at least 4 times per week on treadmill no shorter than 15 minutes and aim to do 30 minutes jogging. If I have to walk during some time of it, I will at least be moving. So I started the program yesterday.

I workouit at least 5 times per week, 2 hours, yoga 3x at least weekly, strength trraining as part of my 2 hours. Usually I end up at gym 2 1/2 hours working out besides my hour of yoga which is additional. I suppose this is my life--working out till my speaking/writing career takes off.

Oh my pastor from way, way back has not seen me in at least 10 years. I went back today for service, he shakes everyones hand, was glad to see each other and he complimented me telling me I look very good. I told him it's eating right to be healthy. I didn't say I workout, but surely that is a big part. He went on to shake others hands then.

Hello-
Didn't get to post last night (sister needed to use my computer). I did manage do some cardio yesterday which was good. I spent about 15 minutes on the treadmill attempting to do my 15 min jog goal..not there yet, wasn't feeling the tread mill. I ended up going outside for a very nice and brisk walk in this one area in town that is full of steep inclines. that a was a good challenge. I was trying to complete the course but got tired (I guess staying up from this toothache night after night has made me a little tired or something) and settled for 75% (which was a 1 1/2 hours).

ok, its really hot here in seattle today and Im a little wary of taking my pale-tushed self outdoors, plus it seems I've picked up somebody's cold... and then there's the argument that my DH and I had yesterday that's making my stomach all knotted up. When I get that way its hard to do anything but hide indoors.

Motivation for today...well, I have an apt. with a trainer in the early evening, but I need to come up with a plan to get homework done AND be active before then. Perhaps I'll take my flashcards with me on a walk to fulfill an errand, see if I cant meet up with a couple friends (although they'll probably put me to work in their gardens :p ), and then meander to the gym.

Once it cools off a little, maybe a longer walk around the lake--right now it's probably like I-5 at rush hour. lol!

Could use a little love today if you have a moment to send me a prayer--thank you! :)

Been doing well in the exercise arena. I'm nursing my hamstring and knee so I'm feel great, but using wisdom and walking the treadmill for 30 minutes generally at end, but if my talking bud comes it may be 20 but in beginning always 10. I walk it fast too.

My trainer helped me so much and now 2 weeks on my own as I had serveral months of training. Lots learned, hubby still thinking it was yoga so I keep quiet. I can use the machines, know how too so I'm good on my own. I have a friend, pro. boxer he was, so he guides me if I look wrong to him.

Last night at around midnight I got back from college and realized...wow...holy shit, I haven't really done anything today (physically active). So I went home and forced myself to do a pilates video for 30 minutes before going to bed. Hated it, but felt better afterwards!

I'm going to try to get back on track with pilates...it really was starting to make a noticeable difference in improving my body form in the "trouble areas" and I just slacked off.

Resting today...

today i did 1.5 hrs of DDR..workout mode, standard levels..haven't played ddr in a while, it was a good change from the elliptical. when i'm on the elliptical i watch the clock the whole time and it makes it seem like 30 minutes is a lifetime.

lavendarj, how long was it before you noticed any improvement with pilates? There's a class at the gym that I'd like to try-never done it.

tinystrawb., what is "ddr"?

Went to the gym for weight training today. I've been pretty sick with a cold, but the thought of missing a workout was too much-ha! no cardio though.

Now time for rest.

When I was consistent, within the first few weeks, flexibility improved (being able to reach farther and improved extension with my legs); I would say that within that first month, I noticed physical things like my abs and thighs not being so giggly-like they were firming up. Even starting seeing the begiinings of definition along the sides of my obliques. I'm trying to get back on track with it because I believe that if I had been consistent, I'd have some really great results right about now (sculpted thighs/definition)...

lavendarJ,

maybe that's a side challenge we can do with each other. If Im feeling better by next week when the pilates class is held, I'll go try it out. If it feels like it could hold my attention (!), then you and me could try and keep each other to sticking with it.

No exercise today, still too sick-need to heal.

Well everyone...

Keep the sweat rolling for me. ...

It's only 10 minutes past 4 p.m. and I'm going to bed for a bit. This tooth ache thing is still going on despite the antibiotics that I have submitted to. The pain is numbing, and just disorienting. I mangaged to go to a meeting from 9 to 11 and then went home. I can't workout or anything. I am going to have to really concentrate and pray about this. Sorry to whine but I have a extremely huge tolerance to pain, do not believe in medication...even after submitted to the antibiotic/pain killer and to find that they are not doing anything...this one has thrown me for a loop. My dentist recommended an oral surgeon for the tooth that broke, that it should be pulled...that appointment is not until June 20th...I can't imagine how many more "all nighters" in intense pain are in store for me.

Needless to say, no exercise today...can't ignore the pain today

ooh lavendarj....no good at all! I had a root canal done years ago and never got it capped, and then it got infected (might have been a hack job to begin with ). I was able to bump up that and another time when I was in a lot of "discomfort". The deal is, call your dentist, tell them in you are in "extreme pain" and have been for weeks (?) now, that you simply must be seen. They usually have a protocol for this situation-if they're proffesional at all.

If all else fails, their are ER oral surgeons at hospitals too.

My prayers for you. *I am visualizing you resolving this very soon, and the relief from pain and tension being gone. After a good rest, you're feeling vibrant and relieved to get back to the gym.*

I'm actually going to do some sort of quick workout in just a few minutes with the medicine ball so that I won't have another whole day go by that was consumed with thoughts of my tooth...feel like I wasted the day

Yesterday did quite a bit of walking--but it was slow. Then went to the gym and did my normal 10 minute cardio warm up and weight routine. not much additional cardio...waiting for the lung capacity still. I might go give it a shot today and see if I can help that along by pushng the edge of it.

Found a new place to go running...running there, doing 3 laps, and running back is conveniently close to being 5k long...so easy to track the distance. I do need to start adding distance...only I get bored doing laps and if I run in the city I run over people and also cough because of the smog...so I am waiting until I can afford an mp3 player. Then laps in the park will be slightly more interesting.

Did some Billy Blanks Flex and 2 miles on the elliptical; at the gym they have all these little challenges for motivation with a t-shirt as a prize. My sister and I signed up for the cross-country one using the ellipticals. We have to reach 309 miles before we have completed our mission and earned the t-shirts. I am doing 2 miles in about 20-ish minutes. I had to laugh because I was like at this rate, we'll need those t-shirts to have long sleeves by the time we get to 309 miles:D

Im checkin in. I have nothing to report, but I'm checking in anyway! nothing like accountability!

Was supposed to go to the gym tonight but me and the fella passed out. We are still both getting over being sick and our energy levels are still drained. Geesh!

Hopefully I can report something tomorrow.

Iamacranberry--its allll about the music. I bring my ipod when I work out. I've found if I only listen to it then, it makes me eager to go do it, and that way Im not bored with my music selection too fast.

lavendarj--that is ALOT of freakin miles my friend! Although, I think its great to have incentives. Im going to make that suggestion at my gym.

our gym does a fitness challenge every january. i just completed it.

36 visits in 12 weeks get your a t-shirt and your name in a draw for a prize (there's about 100 prizes in total)
54 visits (which is what i did) gets your a hat. (just a white plain baseball cap LOL)
72 visits gets you a fitness bag.

at the prize drawing... my hubby won a pair of ladies yoga pants... in MY size! and i won a package of ten drop in fitness passes, which i gave to my hubby since i have a monthly pass and he does drop in. worked out perfectly!

i live in paradise!

i'm in a little town nestled among the mountains. we have a ski mountain less than one hour away - the ocean is about a 2 hour drive, a beach with a huge lake and lagoon for the kids to play at and swim (with gorgeous sand) is 7 minutes from our driveway.

we have hot springs near the beach and live in a tropical rainforest type of climate.

paradise i tell ya... absolute paradise!

Hello Everyone!

Tomorrow is the first day of June. It's so hard to believe that the halfway point of the year is upon us. Wow!

Yep, I'm up for another challenge. Maybe keeping it monthly makes it seem more attainable? But if we did an ongoing thing, maybe we could add a twist to it each week or so to keep us reaching for a new goal? Interested? Or should we just keep checkin' in with our personal challenges?

I hit the gym today-weights and 30 minutes of cardio. Then a special dinner at the raw restaurant with the fella. ;)

Finally got a gym bag--its official! :D
