View Full Version : Help! Is Vomiting Part of Detox?

Today I had to leave work early because of stomach problems, then for the rest of the day everything I ate made me nauseas. I went out to dinner, had a small salad, and on the way home had to pull over and throw up. Luckily I had felt sick at the restaurant and secured a bag to take with me just in case. I have never thrown up outside a bathroom before, this was totally unexpected.

I tried to do a search on my little problem here in association with detox, but couldn't find anything. What's the verdict? Do I really have the flu, or is this the dreaded first detox? Just a note, I haven't had the flu since 1979.

you're just plain sick honey...and I doubt it is detox. Just my opinion. Lay low and get well soon.

Not enough information. O.k, feeling sick all day. Who knows what that is w/out more information? Could be something you ate for breakfast; could be something a co-worker said. Could be detox ~ might not be detox.

"Flu" IS detox btw.

Ride it out best you can; stay hydrated and stop eating.

You mean "flu" as in symptoms right? Not as in virus? I mean you can't catch a virus from detoxing can you?? I just ask because I have had the flu 3 times in my llife and everytime I almost died from my lungs tighting up so much that I could not breathe. I would really hate to cause myself this torture

Thanks!

Hi Randolyn,

No, I don't mean as a virus. What folk do not recognize is, virus and bacteria only attack the junk inside our bodies. IF/when the body is clean, they have no place to survive mush less thrive. IF the body is used as a toxic waste dump then virus and bacteria have a home and it's the body's job to eliminate these things PLUS the toxic waste w/in.

When thinking it's the virus or the bacteria that is the problem then we take no responsibility for our health. If it's our bad food choices, then WE are responsible.

I agree with Revvell! ANYtime the body goes through colds, flu, etc. it is trying to clean itself and rid itself of SOME-thing. That is all colds and flu are...the body making an attempt to clean itself via the respiratory system. One is worse and more magnified than the other and most likely occurs due to the symptoms of the "simple" cold having been stifled/suppressed by medications. One way or another, it's GONNA have to come out eventually!

This can occur either due to the body now being cleaned out by eating "cleaner" (commonly referred to as detox) OR it could be due to the body just being over taxed and over burdened and the "normal" channels of elimination being exhausted and not in proper working order. As it's been stated before, when you see animal feces lying outside or a dead carcass or garbage cans outside swarming with flies...the flies didn't cause or create the feces or the carcass or the garbage...they're just there to eat (and/or lay their eggs in it so the larvae can eat) and to aid in cleaning it up!

When doctors examine a person with a cold or flu, they see bacteria present under the microscope - the bacteria (or virus) didn't cause or create the toxic "mess" within...they're there to eat and to aid in cleaning it up! :)

But the poor little bacteria have been given a bum rap and are falsely accused of having caused the problem rather than the person's lifestyle/dietary choices. They're just there to try and help us out.

To the original poster...I am sorry to hear you not feeling well and hope that today proves to be a better day for you. Best thing...eat minimally and when you DO eat, make it light - juicy fruits, oranges, melon...stuff like that and drink plenty of water and REST as much as you possibly can.

As Revvell mentioned, it's hard to say not knowing all that transpired that day and even the day before. Could be food-related, could be something in the air, could have been a variety of things that caused it. Maybe something not good in the salad (or the dressing) you ate from the restaurant or something you ate earlier on.

is this the dreaded first detox? Just a note, I haven't had the flu since 1979.

In addition:

Two things here. One is "dreaded detox". Detox is to be celebrated. Think of the alternative. When the colon is impacted with food, more work has to be done by the body to recieve and assimilate nutrients. ALSO an impacted colon is pre-curser to cancer.

Secondly ~ not had the "flu" since '79? Girl, you NEED to detox! Whenever someone "brags" about not having been "sick", what they are telling me is, they REALLY need to cleanse their bodies ~ unless they are breatharians ~ and even then.... :)

Whatever is going on, celebrate it and appreciate that your body is doing what it needs to do! Given a chance one's body will choose life!

Hey, let's not get started on the Breatharians, who live on air and an oreo cookie with green tea every 6 weeks!

Thanks everyone for your support. I'm feeling better this morning. Of course I haven't eaten anything yet, and I'm going to take your advice and take it slow with eating today, nothing heavy. I have to say though, I do think whatever it was yesterday had to do with eating raw. And not a negative thing. I can feel my body making changes. Who knows maybe I ate something with too many pesticides and my body decided it didn't want it.

Knowing even in the truck while I was sick that I could come to this board and ask questions made me feel better. This is the first forum I've ever joined. I don't think I'd be able to do raw with so much enthusiasm if it weren't for you. Thanks!
