After I had been RAW for almost 9 months, and losing 37 lbs. my doctor took me off one of my 3 bp meds. I was ecstatic. That was in October of last year. I went today for another check and was ohhhh so hoping to lose another med, but she recommended not changing anything. I was disappointed. My bp is definitely lower than it was in Oct., but not low enough. In February I started eating 4 stalks of celery a day, as I heard recommended actually twice in the same week. I think it's helped. (Celery does something, apparently, to soften the arterial walls).
Does anyone else have non pharmeceutical remedies for high bp. I am determined to work my way off my meds. Thanks.

Biofeedback and meditation a well...
I had extremely high BP (190/100) before getting rid of foods I was allergic to. When I lost gluten and eggs...I miraculously went normal. Or what my doc says "normal for you". Everyone is a bit different...she also swears by calcium/magnesium and potassium rich foods or supplements to lower BP. This is the only person to have identified and treated my BP successfully.
Don't despair about the BP meds. They are keeping your arteries from pressure and damage until your body heals all the way and your BP goes down when it is ready. Find the cause of yours and I'll bet you can fix it.:)

-Celery is one of the most powerful foods for lowering blood pressure, its actually a natural diuretic.I t does not have the harmful side effects of a prescription diuretic.
-Water is often over looked as a blood pressure treatment, but did you know water alone can be more helpful in lowering blood pressure than many prescription medications? Yes thats right, new medical studies show that a water fast can greatly lower your blood pressure and keep it down if followed by a healthy diet.
Flax Seed Oil
Garlic
Hawthorn
Arginine
Omega 3 Oils
Beta-Carotene
Potassium rich fruits such as:
bananas
oranges
prunes
cantaloupes
vegetables such as:
carrots
spinach
celery
alfalfa
mushrooms
lima beans
potatoes
avocados
broccoli
Celery is what I use and it has made a big difference. I have white coat hypertension.never any other times...I have a monitor and it is normally well within "normal" ranges but elevated at the Dr's office. Wishing you the best.
