The article was amazing. I've been in the newspapers many times for animal rights related issues and the media usually eats you for breakfast. They'll ridicule you and tear you apart to entertain the public. Remember a newspaper is not about information. Nobody wants to read about raw foodism when then wake up. They want blood, lust, and risk. The media gives society what they want.
And for a mainstream newspaper like that you don't usually get articles like this. Newspapers simply don't want to put anything in the paper that could compromise their relationship with their advertisers; food and drug companies, especially animal and dairy based companies, who might put an article in to combat that article or make raw foodists angry. Calling us lunitics and extremists. Sadly IMO that would be correct on many levels the some of us act. I was one of those people.
The link was the most amazing thing! Rarely would a link like that ever get in a media source. There are animal rights links and information throughout that link. The advertisers will likely be complaining, so it would be a while before an article like that gets put in the paper.

interesting with the bone density studies which are a crock. my bone density has approved 300% eating raw foods...after I demolished most of my bones I might add.

I really love the comment about "only those with an urban sedentary lifestyle" could maintain a raw vegan diet. I think they said something similar about vegetarian diets 30-ish years ago.... Ironically, they also happened to describe the vast majority of current Western civilization, esp. the sedentary part. <lol>

I also really enjoyed the fact that they said there's no way we could feed 360 million people on raw foods... Only wait, it's actually LIVESTOCK that takes up most agricultural land, and if we stopped having so much livestock, there would be plenty enough space... I had a decent-sized garden a few years ago on campus, maybe 10-15' by 10-15'. We had to donate most (at least over half) of the produce because it was too much for the 5-7 of us working on it to eat.
So while I thought the article was interesting, I thought their "against" viewpoints were pretty outdated with very poor information. Too bad only we know that!!

Yeah, funny that one, huh? I'm 10 weeks post-op for ACL reconstruction & not only did my doctor tell me I was a "freak of nature" because 1 week post-op I could throw out the leg brace & crutches & could basically do anything I wanted to at 5 weeks post-op with no more need for physical therapy (she still cautioned me to be careful until 12 weeks post-op, though), but during the operation she went through 3 batteries for the drill; in any of her other ACL reconstructions she told me 1 battery lasts the entire surgery. At that point I had been 100% raw for 8 months. My blood oxygenation levels were at 100% & my resting BPL was so low the machine was flashing red warning signs. Granted I also exercise a lot, so there's no worries about my blood pressure. Lighter bone density indeed....

It would be cool to get more stories like yours and then post this thread under the story...most of the posts there are about us all being wackos=(
