Hello all,

I have been 'dabbling' with a raw diet for several years now and have had extended periods of staying about 70-80% raw and one recent stretch of 10 days at 100% raw (WooHoo!) but haven't been able to transition over as fully as I hoped. Never quite get past the SAD (in my case total junk!) cravings, feeling hungry all the time and that scary 'vulnerability' that comes from not having my emotional eating vices to numb out...

Though I am proud to say that even with my sketchy adherence, I've been able to keep off over 40 lbs. and picked up running and even ran a 5K! :-) (Don't get me wrong, I have to fight to make myself get out there for 20-25 min runs these days, but it's still progress, right?)

This way of eating and lifestyle makes sense to me on so many levels and I'd really like to experience an extended period of 100% raw to hopefully reap the benefits I read about (increased energy, focus, optimism, improved body and skin condition, etc.).

I'm taking the 30-day May challenge and will be doing my best to give and receive support thru this forum so that I can look back at the end of May and be proud I made it, and did so in such good company! :-)

All the best,

Aloha and Welcome to RFT!!!! wow!! you really have done some amazing things in your journey already... 40 pounds is something you should REALLY be proud of ... and RUNNING A 5k... my goodness that is AWESOME!!!

just be patient with your self and transition as you can... you are trying to change a life time of habits and patterns and sometimes that just can't be done overnight -- so no worries... the most important thing is that -- you simply keep moving forward... keep working on it ... and keep making as wise a choice as you can with your food!

If you are jumping in on the MC -- that's great... it does work wonders when it comes to help one overcome addictions! (one of the surprising perks that I was not expecting!)....

it's wonderful that you have joined us... I'm also on the MC thread - so I hope to see you over there!!

RAWk on!
