Hello!

I am 25 and live in CA. I have been a l-o vegeterian for 7 years now and have become interested in raw foods through the raw foods forum at VeggieBoards.

I think that RawVeganMom is the one that provided the link to this site there on VB (which makes me think I should have put her as refering member when I registered, oops).

I don't think I am ready to make the plunge cold turkey, but am interested in adding more and more raw over time. Currently I am trying to cut out junk food snacks (breakfast is usally already raw for me and lunch is raw for me about 50% of the time). Dinner is really where I am going to struggle...that and when I get home from work which seems to be my real binge time.

I am not really that interested in loosing weight, but am more interested in the health benifits.

Anyways, sorry for rambling but I am glad to have found this site. I have been lurking for awhile now and have already found this site very helpful. :)

Hi CaptainSwab and welcome! I'm in Glendale. Might I ask where your name is from?

Sure. My screen name is actually from my cockatiel. We have had him for about 9 years now.

When we first got him, we took him on a sailing trip with my family around Santa Cruz and Santa Rosa (two of the channel islands). We ended up naming him Swabbie while on that trip, a swabbie is kind of like a maggot, a low boathand.

I use this screen name for everything so when I first signed up at my first message board, I thought it would be funny to add captain to that, the head of a ship.

Err, that doesn't really make sense when I write it out, but it does in my head. :)

Well, its roots are from the sailing world so I guess that pretty much sums it up. :D

i did the very same thing, i use my cats name for everything...his name is "Mr. Foley" with the nickname MrFoo...so my email address and everything i do is variations of mrfoo..my poor kitty decided to live with a neighbor about five years ago and can you believe she moved last month and TOOK HIM WITH HER!! now i dont even get to visit him...but mr foo still lives on. ( i get the craziest email spam addressed to "Mr" because everyone thinks i am a guy..haha.)
