I'm sure you all have better ones (and if you've got a favorite recipe please share!) but here's mine that I had with lunch:
1 banana
1 cup frozen mixed berries
1/4 cup pineapple juice
handful of goji berries
1 tbsp soy powder (not raw, I know, I'm transitioning and I have to use it up)
2 cups romaine
I just felt like posting ^___^

What ever Jumps out and says "Use me before I go Bad". And sometimes it does taste BAD....So I add Raisins and HOLD MY NOSE and drink it. Once it hits my Stomache it forgets how Rough the Trip was.......

I'm new to raw so forgive me if this is a dumb question - but do you have to juice greens or can you throw 'em in a blender?
I have a juicer, but refuse to discard the pulp... so I was wondering if I could juice greens then throw them into a blender with some fruit for a smoothie? or would that make it too "chunky" to drink?
Great recipe ideas; thanks for this thread!

I would just throw everything in the blender. If you juice it first you lose pulp and you want all the vitamens from your fruit and vege's.
I just made a wild smoothie and it's actually good :p
2 Banana's
1/2 Mango
1/2 cup Strawberries
1 Handful Goji Berries
1 Handful Cocao Nibs
1 Tbl. Coconut Flakes
1 Bunch Spinach
1 Avocado
WOW! It's really creamy and smooth and Yummy :p

Great, thanks, Jenifae! I have a cheapo blender so now I have to see if it will blend greens well. If not I'll pour both the juice and the pulp into the blender with the rest of the smoothie ingredients.
Last night I made the most delicious smoothie with:
1 mango
1 banana
fresh raw ginger
fresh grated cinnamon
bee pollen
spirulina
chlorella
(not sure if those last 3 are allowed, as they are organic and raw but dried? sorry, I'm brand-spanking-new at this!)

Sometimes I juice just the greens - put them in the blender and then strain them in a nut milk bag - if they're real stringy like kale is sometimes.

I always put water, which is all I have, in the bottom of blender with greens, blend away. When all blended, then I add whatever else I have around here.
Today it was:
spinach
bananas
flax seeds
hemp seed protein
apple
Delish.
I'm probably going to start buying spinach, organic, one pounders at Costco as they also sell greens too. I don't think I get as much for my bucks when buying it as a bunch. Costco is already cleaned for me too.

Just a side note - can I just say how AMAZING it is how much you learn from this forum in just a week. I came across the reply in this thread asking if you have to run greens through a juicer before you can blend them. I thought "Duh, what a newbie!" -- then I saw that it was MY own question!! It's been a week since I asked that and I'm already addicted to green smoothies and can't remember how I existed before my GS's! :D
Here is a current favorite:
- a blender-full of spinach and a handful of kale
- 8 oz. water... blend all that first before adding anything else
- cucumber
- banana
- several sprigs of mint
LOVE the addition of mint! I will also throw in spirulina, chlorella, bee pollen, flax seeds (I grind these separately beforehand), coconut oil, fresh ginger, and/or cinnamon as well... whatever I'm in the mood for, but I try to get all of this in at least once daily. YUMMMMM

I just recently discovered these wonderful drinks! I found the one and only recipe I have used so far from www.goneraw.com
3-4 Kale leaves
1/3 pineapple
1 banana
4 mint leaves
1/2" slice of ginger
water or mylk as you like
I LOVE THE MINT AND GINGER IN THIS! :D :D :D
p.s. romaine = FAIL!!!!!!!!
does anyone know an easy recipe for a young coconut smoothie? I just bought one yesterday and I'm not sure what to add to it!

I'm curious......how many greens do you put in your smoothies? How much does it make? For example, today I put two handfuls of baby spinach in my smoothie and the smoothie was about 16 ounces. Just wondering.
