New to the Site!

Hello, Recently I have made a change to Raw Foods. Dont know too much about it. I decided to make a change after having a bad experience with meat and ended up making me very sick. Any knowledge that all you can share would be great.

Currently I am a college student living in NY. I am also a personal trainer and femal fitness competitor.

Welcome to the board! If you really don't know alot about this way of living, you may want to consider getting Alissa's book & DVD's! They are pretty much worth their weight in gold! What I like so mush about Alissa is that she keeps everything so simple & easy to do! She has a great energy about her & a fun personality that really comes through in her book as well as her DVD's! She really sells you on this with her looks also! The reason I recomend getting both is that, especially if you are new to raw, the DVD's would be a great intro & should be watched first above anything else! The book is packed with lots of really simple recipes that look & taste fabulous! You will go out & buy the book as soon as you watch the DVD's anyway so you may as well get them together & save a few bucks!

That's what's so great about her book. You will not be confused after reading it. Actually, there are several books that are excellent. We've discussed them here many times. You can search for those threads, if you wish, by using the search tool at the top of this page (look for the banana). I strongly recommend you educate yourself from printed material rather than just from searching the web.

A good feature of this site that you may also find helpful is the section entitled Need to Know More About Raw? -- you'll see it on the Home page under the Raising Raw Kids section. There are informative articles (some of which are from Alissa's book) that Alissa has posted there.
