Please let me apologize in advance. I have been searching the internet, but due to my slow-as-a-snail-in-molasses-cruddy-dial-up-server, I have looked at 3 or 4 sites in a 1/2 hour.

All I want to know is what do I look for in a food grade bucket? How do I know it's safe? I need a large food grade bucket for composting vegetables.

I cannot for the life of me figure out the safest plastic bucket. I mean one would think that BABY BOTTLES would be among the safest plastics around, but as of late we have learned how dangerous they are!

So does anyone know the answer or have high speed internet that will allow them to view more than 5 pages and hour?????

No need for a bucket - you can set up a small area in your yard (mine's behind my shed) or just toss the food scraps and amend the soil as you go along. ~ Cathy

no, no. I need the bucket to hold the scraps BEFORE I dump it in the pile. I have a biggish family (6 of us) so just shucking enough corn or peeling potatoes for the sad eaters is a bucket full! LOL! I would like to get a bucket with a lid to keep the fruit flies to a minimum, esp when I am peeling 4 bunches of bananas to freeze for ice cream! :p
