I have some questions, but this is the 3rd thread that I'm opening today, so I will ask my both remaining questions here:

1st

I usually drink Penta water... but as a 100% raw, I'm increasing the amount of water, so it comes pretty expensive.
A raw chef told me that reverse osmosi water is not good... and I would like to know why... as I always though (from other experts) that it was good. A gallon of this water is 49 cents at whole foods, versus $12 per gallon of Penta (in 2.99 per half quarter bottle)
I love Penta water and I will keep purchasing it, but I would drink more water if reverse osmosi is good, also I would use this one for soaking.
If this water is not good, which one is? Do not ask me to purchase an ionizer because they are so expensive.

2nd

We are thinking in getting a fasting for the next month. We want to last it for a week more or less.
We are not sure how we must do it. So I will ask the following:

- During the whole week just preparing green smoothies and then passing it through the nut milk bag is considered fasting (there will be no pulp)?

- How about juice fasting? We do not own a juicer so I think that it may be a problem!!

- Wheatgrass fasting is fine? I love it but my wifes dislikes it (well, maybe now she likes it more, as being raw you get used)

- Finally, how a water fasting? How it should be done? I find it crazy! Isn't dangerous? I know the boutenkos do this fastings. How much should this fasting last.

- We are most like to do the water fasting or the green smoothie as explained above, but can you said me how to compare the green smoothies fasting vs the juice fasting (with no juicer) vs the wheatgrass fasting (my wife may not like it) vs the water fasting (we are very open to this one)

Can you say briefly some pros and cons?
Is it dangerous?

This may help. It applies to both of us:

We are:
Vegetarian Since: 06-29-07
Vegan Since 07-05-07
RAW 100% Since: 03-31-08

As vegans we ate lots of veggies in stir fries and salads. We only been junkatarians as omnis.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow... lots of questions!! and if you posted these on each thread... you should get a pretty good round of opinions and hopefully ... lots of information so you can make a fairly educated decision on which direction to go....

okay -- lemme see if I can give this a whirl... lol!! (but remember now... I'm only answering from MY opinions.... okay?)

number one... I dunno about Penta water... personally I won't (and can't) spend the money on fancy water... I enjoy the way Penta water tastes and as a treat I will spend the money occasionally -- but it's not the only water I drink.

I've read and heard that Fiji water is supposed to be the very best for you as far as being alkaline... and it's less expensive. I love Fiji water and so does my body! If I'm traveling in the car I try to always care some. But here at home...we have one of those water purifer things on our sink... Pur something or other -- ?? we got it at Costco... tastes great - and works just fine.

okay... number 2... so you want to embark on fast... first of all... what is your reasoning behing going on a fast?? that will have some bearing on what kind of fast you might want to go on.

personally- I've never been on a juice fast...
or a green smoothie fast...
or a wheatgrass fast...

juice fasting (to my knowledge) is just juice - no pulps
smoothies have the pulp and more roughage in it
and wheatgrass -- well... is wheatgrass! (a wheatgrass fast does NOT sound like it would be fun!)

water fasting is very intense on the body - Detox can be pretty difficult when water fasting - but it is also a great way to cleanse the body if you can handle it.

I don't necessarily think any of these fasts are dangerous -- but keep in mind that each person is different -- with diffrent health issues and those all have to be taken into consideration.

Many spiritual leaders thoughout the ages have gone on fasts ... and they can't all be wrong!

I think the difference between going on a juice feast, green smoothie fast or water fast... is what exactly are you trying to accomplish -- PLUS -- how much discomfort you and your wife can handle.

The Master Cleanse fast is also an excellent fast (one I am donig right now)... and you also don't get hungry while on the Master Cleanse....

THE MASTER CLEANSE:
This fast, adapted from Stanley Burrough's Master Cleanser (http://www.amazon.com/dp/0963926209?tag=thechiroprainf02&creative=373489&camp=211189&link_code=as3&creativeASIN=0963926209) Recipe, is a simple, yet demanding, cleanse that allows you to maintain a moderate level of energy while cleansing your liver and blood stream and eliminating toxins from your deep tissues and vital organs.

that is one reason why it is recommended (but not necessary) for 10 days if possible.

here is a link to some information that you and your wife can look at...

Your fast may not be to difficult since you've been eating really healthy for quite a while now... plus you've been raw since March... so - your detox may be easier.

by the way... I'm not recommending you sign up for or purchase anything on those links up above... that's just for informational purposes.... if you cruise around on those links - there's lots of wonderful infromation there.

I did not buy any Master Cleanse kit -- or anything like that -- I just make my own here at home... very easy - lemons, water, maple syrup and cayenne...
