hi guys. does anyone have recommendations on how to become more flexible? like right now, i can't even touch my toes and my neck gets achy often.

i've heard about pilates & yoga. what are your experiences? thanks!

Those are EXCELLENT. Stretch every chance you can, so the Muscles don't tighten and shorten.

I just found this great website...

I have seen good increases in my flexibility after doing some of these dynamic stretches daily.

I am a big fan of yoga for building flexibility ( the frist thing that goes on us as we age!), strength, and balance. It is not, however, a quick fix. I did video tapes in my basement for years --there are tons of them out there--and now am taking a class in addition to my home practice. It's incredible!

My advice -- stretch some amount every day even if only for 5 minutes. And don't push it. You can start right now.

oh yes. i have pushed it and felt the pain for more than a week. http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q94/SHOE_tutorials/current%20emo/thlaugh.gif

thanks guys for taking the time to respond. i've been trying yoga but will have to forego it. for some reason, it's really painful for me, although i "feel" like i don't push the poses at all. http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q94/SHOE_tutorials/current%20emo/confused.gif

I also recommend stretching periodically throughout the day, especially if the muscles feel weak or stiff.
