Hi Everyone,
two weeks ago I purchased and read Book called Raw Food Detox Diet
by Natalia Rose. I have 60lbs to lose and refuse to have gastic bypass.
I am Italian ...enough said right LOL..so you know my issues with food :p
Anyway, I am very slowly moving towards raw. I was doing OK lost 5 lbs
then all of sudden gained 3 back and got stuck, so I reached out to
Natalia and she emailed me back to cut back on fruit, nuts, oils...which has been tough.
I drink 2-3 glasses on veggie juices made with Kale/romaine/apple/ginger/carrots durng the day, have large salad raw veggies for lunch and each steamed Fish with more veggies for dinner.

This morning I woke about 3 am and could not sleep had headache and was
nauseous! felt REALLY bad ! after a good elmination and glass of ginger ale--
a NO NO I am sure, I started to feel better...
had my morning drinks etc and feel fine now..

sorry to go on but I am so afraid I am doing myself harm

Thanks so very much for listening:D

I hear you. But no one is forcing you to go at a pace that is not right for YOU. Even doctors will tell you that increasing your overall lifetime % of fresh raw plant foods would be beneficial to you in just about every respect. So: concentrate on what you CAN do...be comfortable and be happy in the process. If you are kickin your own butt....you aint doin anyone any favors. Just my opinion.

Hi! I have read Natalia Rose's book and it was very sensible. I found though, that partly raw just didn't work for me. Since that time I have found that the best path for me is all raw vegan. I don't think eating the foods you listed would cause you damage. The juices could be causing you to detox quickly. You could ease up on the juices and drink plenty of water. Have you seen Alissa's book? (look to the links at the left) She advocates an all raw, vegan diet. Her book is full of stories of people who have lived this lifestyle and much info and tons of recipes. She suggests eating all raw and eating whatever raw foods you want at first. It seems that this would not help with weight loss, but it actually does for most people. After settling in to raw for a month of two, you might adjust your intake of nuts or whatever to feel your best. It's a process of learning what feels best for our own bodies. I am on a journey of raw eating that has helped me in many ways. I have lost 35 pounds so far and I have 35-40 to go. RAW has been the ONLY thing that allowed me to lose weight. Best wishes to you on your journey to health!!!

add more oils when trying to loose weight. The latest theory on loosing weight is that the fat cells are filled with toxins. The body puts toxin in fat cells to protect the body. To get it out of the fat cells, the body needs more good fat to put the toxin in and eliminate it. Dr. Young's theory is that when the body turns acid, it stores fat everywhere it can to protect the body from the acid and toxins.

The raw food diet is a life transition food plan. Not a life sentence for misery. Enjoy the food.

Two words: GREEN SMOOTHIES

Start incorporating these into your raw diet. These are tremendous powerhouse drinks that really, really compliment a raw diet. I say smoothies instead of juices because of the fiber.

Do you have Alissa's book and DVD? I suggest getting them. They are THE best out there. Trust me. I know.

Sounds like you are detoxing my dear.

Go at your own pace. Don't be negative. You are NOT doing yourself harm. Your body is responding properly with the headache and feeling like horse manure and all. Hang in there. It will be sooooo worth it!!!
