Hi everyone:)

I have a problem, in the past however long i exercise for, however much, the tops of my legs do not tone AT ALL , from my knees upto my lower back stays flabby. Wobbly bum and thighs! the tops of my thighs are fine, its just the sides and the back and my buttocks.
Heres what i have tried this is over a process of the past year or so everyday or every other day for 30mins-1.30hrs depending on how much time i have, other than this i run with the dogs or walk them everyday:
Trampoline
Stepper machine
Yoga
Aerobics
Jogging
Biking

Is it just me or are my legs immune to everything:(

Should i just try exercising more?

i would try something different. have you tried yoga? i find it very muscle lengthening... makes me look all purdy!

Squats and lunges are my favorite exercises for legs. Good luck:D

maybe also try pilates? i find it to be more toning than yoga personally, but everyone's body responds differently to different exercise. :)

Walking up a very steep hill.. and I do mean steep!!! It really works! Take very long strides as you are walking. We have a hill by our house that drops over 1,000 feet to sea level in a very short hike...

then try walking backwards up that same hill... ouch  ... but it works!!:D

I agree with squats and lunges for thinning down my legs too. I do use weights when I am doing these exercises too. I have a trainer so he showed me how to do them properly which brought me results. Today my legs looked so skinny I complimented "me."

Tonight tried running with my new Nike's on treadmill. Tomorrow I weigh in so we shall see how I did for my 35 minutes on treadmill mostly running fast too with little walk steep hill time.

All those exercises you listed are great for cardiovascular benefits but do little to add muscle mass. You need to lift some weights. Squats, lunges and deadlifts are all great for the hamstrings and butt.

I agree with the posters who recommended squats and lunges. Also The Firm tapes use a high box in their workouts which is great for toning the legs.

I agree. Squats. As much as I hated them before? I so love them now...

Although getting a truckload of mulch and moving about half of it in an hour and a half is also a great leg workout. Wanna come over and help me move the rest of it! LOL!!!

I forgot to mention squats! i use ankle weights and hand weights, but they are not very heavy.
Lunges i never seem to be able to do proply.

Thanks for the advice :) i will try more muscle strength type exercises

Sqeezing small beach ball between legs - can be done sitting or lying down, great for reshaping the inner side of thights
