Ello :D

I'm planning on starting the MC tommorow and going for 10 days and maybe more depending on how I feel. It would be great to have someone to do it with so anyone starting of who has started recently and wants to chat let me know.

I've done a 8 day juice fast before with no problems sand I lost around 6 pounds.

I've been away traveling for over 3 months and my healthy diet & exercise regime went completely out the window and I'v come back home 24 pounds heavier and I feel pretty awfull due to all the junks food I'v become addicted to! and of course I'm now fatter so none of my clothes fit & I can't afford to go and buy a new wardrobe. I'm hoping this will give me a good kick up the but and I can break these awfull cravings for junk and go back to being healthy & make the move and go 100% raw.

Anyway enough about me - if anyone wants to join me I'd love it ;)

so when you say you were starting today as in the 20th...does that mean that you are going to eat & then have tea...or you started completely?

I started the lemonade drinks yesterday (Sun) and also did the SWF but ate a banana in evening as my mum was getting on my case to eat somthing as I had a headache - you wouldn't belive I'm 32 years old!:D :D

So yes I'm continuing today and without the banana - just the lemonade.

would love to go for 21 days but I'm going to aim for the first 10 days then 3 day chunks.

Big smiles :)

So we are on the same page - for me Sunday was my day zero- today is day one!!! Not sure how long i will last but i am determined and motivated - and if i can finally wear clothing stored in my closet - wow - that will be big bonus!
I have 70 lb to loose so any weight gone in the proces will make me happy. I love the light feeling i have already, i am looking for spiritual and mental clarity, body cleansing and enhanced creativity.

I have about 25 pounds to get back down to the weight I was in Jan so I'll be over the moon to get back to that but if I can loose a bit maybe 30 pounds I'll be really pleased :)

It would be great to share the journey with you and see how we go - if we can motivate each other to keep strong. I'm also looking for mental clarity and to get rid of my new found sugar/junk addictions and any spiritual clarity or enhanced creativity would be a huge bonus.:)

Did you eat raw food before starting or are you planning on going over to raw after the cleanse?

I am going to try my best as I really want to be 100% raw but I really don't know what I would eat every day - I'm hoping to get lots of ideas from this board. Unfortunatly its very hard to get fresh produce where I live, eveything is imported - and our health food shop doesn't sell half the things mentioned on here! we too have turned into a junk & pre packaged food nation.

I'm looking forward to hear how you are doing

Big smiles :D

I am raw ( mostly 100% = few exceptions happened) since December 1/2007
I was raw before than - but not very disciplined - didn't know how to stay raw in Sad world. Now it is much easier.
I am planing master cleanse: maple sugar and lemon = lemonade, water salt flush and senes tea - mostly.
I don't know how long i will be able to stay on MC - not sure how much weight i can realease but for sure i need cleaning - so we are buddies now.:)
There is another tread - i signed myself there - go take a look - lots of advice from experienced fasters! 40 days challenge

I tried to post on the 40 MC challenge thread but I can only get the 1st 13 pages so I can't see the most recent postings:confused: I dont know why or if its somthing I'm doing - I'm new to all this messaging & stuff so I'm learning as I go.

So how are you getting along with the SWF? I didn't do one yest - will do one today but not until later as I have a gym class at 10 and don't fancy leaping around with a litre of water swooshing around inside me

I'm still feeling ok today apart from a headache - my grumpyness has passed a little (I think) and the hunger pangs come & go much quicker now which is good.

Don't know how I'll feel after my gym class but I've booked it so will go and see what happens - I've read loads about people who excerise & run whilst doing the MC cleanse so I'll see how I go.

Do you have to work etc whilst doing this or have you got some time off?

:D

Tanglewood and Ocean - i am on my day 2 - doing all right but noises from my tummy scare me - growling!
I am drinking lemonade, salt is not very tasty - i use minimal amount of water to dissolve salt and drink lots of water after that.
How are you doing?
I am working - but i have relatively low stress job now so i can manage.
I am more concerneed about my coworkers - if i will feel too weak or bringing negative attention than i will take some time off.

Are you also adding the cayene pepper? I understand that it is a very crucial part of the cleansing as it really helps to clear and release a lot of the mucus from the colon, lungs, etc... And it is so true that if you can't tolerate the heat, your taste buds really do adjust fast. I started out with 1/4 of a teaspoon in each cup and now I'm up to 1/2 teaspoon in each cup. And it doesn't feel anymore "hot" than before. In any case, Good luck to all of you and happy cleansing:) I'm sure I will see you over on the 40 day MC challenge board:)

Hi....

I am thinking about starting my first MC tomorrow (april 23). I have tried it once in the past but didn't last more than a few days, as I did not like the taste of the cayenne pepper. I am a very experienced juice faster. How has your experience been so far these past few days? I need a bit of encouragement. I'd like to be down to the weight I was in January which is 15 lbs less than what I weigh now, and I'd like to do it fast and keep it off for good. Do you know if I can take a high quality cayenne pepper supplement in a capsule instead of the real deal? The taste just gags me!

Thanks everyone!

Hello - I don't know if the capsule would be as effective as the capsule may not disolve properly but I'm not very experienced in these things - I've read that some people mix the cayenne with just a little of the lemonade or water gulp it down quick in a couple of mothfulls then drink the lemonade to get rid of the taste?? duno if that would work - I quite like the cayenne

I'm feeling ok - a little shaky but ok, but I did a body pump class this morning so that could have somthing to do with the shakes - I thought I was gonna die! I can't belive how quickly you can loose your fitness & strength:(

I know your not suposed to swap stuff around on the MC but I was wondering how bad it would be to swap the maple syrup for Manuka honey? The maple syrup tastes far to nice and I'm finding its giving me terrible cravings for more sweet stuff - I have to stop myself from drinking it out the bottle lol. Manuka honey is fantastic stuff with all kinds of healing benefits so wouldnt that be better than maple syrup?? I can get the organic, fairly traded stuff but finding proper organic maple syrup is proving quite hard.

Any thoughts - I know honey isn't vegan but if its not mass produced and its FT & organic. I really am interested in people thoughts.

Hows eveyone else doing? I find if my tummy starts to growl I drink some water quick and I'm finding I have to keep doing things - keep myself constantly busy so I don't think about it. On the bright side I'm getting loadsa stuff done :D

I am not much into cayenne - i only use it in my evening lemonade - during the day only maple and lemon - will try to add more during the process.
So far everything all right - a little weak and sleepy and sort of "i don't care" but Ok:) not hungry ...
Honey should be OK- love the taste but it is dangerous for me to keep it at home - i will eat it in one day......
I keep my maple syrop at work :):) and will have only small amount for weekend....

I'm really not too keen on honey - I don't mind it in stuff like tea or on museli but I don't like it off the spoon & Manuka honey is particuarly strong tasing so whilst happy to have in the lemonade I could easily resist scoffing spoonfuls of it :o

Its funny how we all have our binge trigger foods - mine is peanut butter (or any other nut butter) I am a complete addict, if only takes the tiniest taste and I want to polish off the jar :p I used to have it in my soya yogurt, in my porrige, I would make hemp & nut butter smoothies after I came out of the gym - I just love it but realize I can no longer live unsupervised in the same house as a jar of nut butter :D :D lol - I wonder if there's a peanut butter anonymous support ??

I havn't weighed myself again yet - I'm going to leave it till Friday and see if I'v lost any weight.

Is everyone else weighing daily?

Here's some info I found in my notes and print outs etc. on the fasting and the MC .

"What about the use of honey"
Honey must never be used at any time internally. It is manufactured from the nectar picked up from the flowers by the bees- good enough in itself, perhaps- then predigested, vomited:eek: and stored for their future use with a preservative added. It is deficient in calcium and has many detrimental effects for the human being.
According to one authority, honey is "a magical word in Healthfoodland". It is one of the most promoted, overpriced products being sold to gullible health food advocates. The great value attributed to honey is delusive...honey is only a little less empty and more dangerous than sugar.
Just as with alcohol, honey being predigested, enters the blood directly, raising the sugar content very rapidly above normal. To correct this, the pancreas must produce insulin immediately or possible death can occur. More insulin than necessary is likely to be produced , and the blood sugar level then drops below normal. This can produce blackout spells and even death if too low. When blood sugar is below normal,a person will feel depressed. The regular use of honey can create constant imbalances, which in turn will adversely affect the normal function of the liver, pancreas and spleen.Hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia are the results of the use of unbalanced sugars. The balanced sugar in MAPLE SYRUP and sugar cane juice causes no dangerous side effects.

I know I have read elsewhere not to use honey with the MC .

Just tossing this out there.

Hey tanglewood - i can totally relate - no dangerous food at home and i am all right - i will not go to the store buy it - but if i have a spoon of something trigerring - forget all the diets and motivations.... we know we learn from the past experiences....we avoid.
And cayenne peper really works well- i experimented and had great results. I stil do not like to add it to my all lemonades - i rather have larger amount in one in the late afternoon.
I feel great today - energy stabilized, i can not excercise but i feel fine walking.
