I've seen juice fasting being mentioned in a few posts and it sounds really interesting. I've never heard about it before. Has anyone here any experience from a juice fast? What does a typical day look like? How much do you drink?

I'd like to know more about this so please share your experiences!

Thanks in advance!

I'm sure you'll get replies from experienced juice-fasters, but here is a good place to start reading of one particular member's juice fast experience (I won't mention any names ;) )

Hey,

I'm thinking about doing a 30 days juice fast too, but I don't own a juicer yet. Now I know that in a previous post conciouscuisine was really happy with a juicer and I thought you, rawkinlocs, were thinking of buying it too, but then the juicer broke and yeah, now I don't know which ones are good...
do you own a juicer now Rawkinlocs or not just yet and if you do, what brand is it and are you happy with it?
Here in Belgium I can only find some types of juicers, for instance Magimix Le duo and the champion juicer. I don't want to order from the UK or the USA because that will cost me a fortune in shipping and taxes!
I can get the champion juicer here for around $324... is that a good price you think?
Are there other juicers that work in the same way as the champion but are less expensive?

Thanks for your replies!

Hiya Jay,

I know you asked Rawkinlocs and she will give you a good answer. I just wanted to let you know that I own a champion and it has served me well so far. I used it pretty much exclusively during my 30 day juice fast.

Peace.

Todd

Jay,

yeah I was thinking of getting that LeQuip Visor Juicer and that's the one a few members here said broke down on them (including ConsciousCuisine).

I don't have one yet (just this centrifugal one that I hate using) but I do plan to get one and I think I'm going either for a Champion or the Greenstar (or something similar that will juice, homogenize and grind)

Hi Todd and Rawkinlocs,

thanks for the quick respons!

Tod, which type of champion is it you have? Because there are apparantly different series... (like 1000, 2000, ... do you know what the difference is between these series? tx!)

Its just sad that it has to cost so much, I mean, it would be okay if I lived in the USA, because most of the time you get free shipping from various sites, but I have to have it shipped to belgium, and the taxes, o man, it's almost twice the price of a juicer then!

In the end, if the champion is lasting (almost) a lifetime, then I suppose it's worth it's price, but still, a lot of money...

Hi Jay,

You know, I don't even remember what style it was and it doesn't say on it which one it is. I know it cost me $200 US dollars. I have only had it now for 6 months but I have used it heavily, as I mentioned for the juice fast and also I make almond butter with it. I would say its worth it especially if you are embarking on a juice fast. I have discovered a 30 day juice fast is truly a life-changing event. So the cost of the juicer is worth the price of admission!

Peace.

Todd
