the ones we get say they have ferrous gluconate in them which is used as an iron supplement can i eat these? i love olives and we can't find any other ones without this ingredient

Oh yeah! I am SO glad you posted this! I am CRAVING black olives, and don't know how/where to get them raw.
I can't wait to hear everyone's answers!

Most black olives ~ especially canned ~ are not raw. I would suggest you google any additives you might find in them also if that's the main question.

I get my raw black olives from the local deli, who started to special order them for me, and many other people who are vegans.

I used to eat some that were in a jar, but still raw, as they were not heated.

They had three kinds, but very expensive, abou $12 per pound.

The ones I get now are about $9. per pound and already pitted.

I love them, although now they are getting way too salty for me, so my taste buds are changing again. LOL

I got a jar of sundried black olives at Whole Foods market. They're good , but salty. I put them on some eggplant pizza and had to take most off becasue they were so salty.
