I am trying to transition to 100% (or close to it) eating but I am concerned about the toxins going to my milk. I don't want to overload my baby with toxing!! At what rate is it safe to do it and what types of things to do I need to watch, eat etc. I am new to eating this way so I am still fairly ignorant. Thanks.
you are right to be concerned. transitioning includes detox and is not advisable during pregnancy or nursing. what you can do is increase your raw healthy foods incrementally, adding more and more over time. at any sign of detox add more healthy cooked foods back into your diet to slow things down a bit.
the best way to go is to start by cleaning up your cooked food diet though, by the time you are making only healthy choices there you will be ready to switch out dishes and meals for raw alternatives. and of course an abundance of fresh fruits and veggies will only benefit you and baby at any time.
good luck!

I already ate mostly whole grains and lots of fruits and veggies that is helping me I think. I will continue to watch what I am doing. THank you for the response!

I just started transitioning from 100% vegan (but predominantly cooked) and am nursing my 13 mos DS. I am eating a whole foods diet, so I am going to slowly transition to 100% raw over the next 3 weeks and watch him. He is very phlegmy and I am hoping that raw foods will increase the nutrition in my BM for him, and hopefully he'll also start eating more raw, and be less phlegmy. Right now, I steam and puree for him, or he will eat steamed broccoli, cauliflower, etc. Once I get my vitamix (in the next 2 weeks), I'll puree raw for him.

When i went back to raw food, my little baby girl was perfectly fine. Raw food will help you to cleanse gentely, of course you don't want to do a detox program such juicing all the time, etc.... Just eat normal raw food such meal and all will be ok.
You can consider a colon cleanse with a colon therapist with water. This just wash your guts and release the toxin that way instead of going in your blood. Do research for a good one, for there are good side and down side. I got that done and my alergies cleared up.
Keep us update, follow your body. If you don't feel to transition 100% raw right of way, this is good but the more you eat good quality raw food, the better you will get a good nutritious milk for your child.
