Hello,
This is my very first post. I am a stay at homeschooling mom to my 2 daughters. Ive been married to Bill for almost 14 years. I need to lose close to 100 pounds. I'd be thrilled with 75 though. I am 5'9 and weigh 234 as of today. Ive tried all the diets out there. Atkins, Weight Watchers, low carb, low fat, nutrisystem, you name it. I am at a point in my life right now where my main focus is health. I have no current health problems other than hypoglyemia if I eat too much sugar which I seem to do a lot of! (not good)
With low carb I really get sick of eating cooked meats....I love fruit and I love vegies of all kinds. My husband lost about 30 pounds in 2 months doing an 80 90% raw food diet a few years ago, and he wants to start it again too.
I think he was doing the Braggs diet.
So here I am....ive become so interested in eating raw, it sounds like something that I might really enjoy. I'd first want to start maybe with one cooked meal a day though before I throw myself into this. I own a Vita Mixer and Jack Lalanne juicer already! With the braggs diet they want you to drink the organic apple cider vinegar...do you guys do that too?
Well thanks so much, I hope to learn alot here!

Welcome! Raw is more than a diet, it's a lifestyle! I'm so glad you're ready to give it a try! You are also very lucky to have the support and enthusiasm of your husband. Best wishes on YOUR Raw path!!!

Do you think I should order both the book and DVD? Or just the book?
Does the DVD have more recipes than the book or are they the same??

Aloha and Welcome to RFT!! SOOO glad you have joined us!

I love the DVD AND the book...

the DVD is awesome b/c it's like having Alissa standing right there in your kitchen giving you private lessons! When I first went raw -- I had no clue what raw was other than raw celery or carrot sticks or fruit! It was helpful to be able to see how EASY these meals are to prepare, plus... what the textures looked like - all of that.

and... the two gals on the DVD with Alissa -- OMG... at the end of the DVD - it shows them after being 100% raw for 30 days... that right there helped me sooo much. cuz these were REAL people... like you and me. If they could do it... and look that different in 30 days.... then by golly - i could do it too.

I even took the DVD to work with me - and when I would start to feel like I might slip.. or feel a bit discouraged... I would put the DVD into my computer and just STARE at their before and after pictures... the change is DRASTIC. seriously amazing.

I figured... you know what- if they can do it -- then I can do it.. and it's only 30 days for God's sake... I can do this... I can give myself 30 days to really once and for all apply myself and really REALLY do this for ME.

I loove the book because the testimonys in there are so inspiring... PLUS.. Alissa teaches us HOW TO MAKE THIS LIFEstyle WORK. How to make it DO'able for our budget, the time we have, everything....

and then... there's the recipes!! OMG... so amazing.. plus so much other really helpful info on sprouting - what it is - how to do it... and how to MAKE IT ALL SIMPLE.... and I love simple!

literally every aspect you could image is covered with reference to the RAW LIVEstyle... the book is APTLY NAMED....

LIVING on LIVE foods... it's a "how to book" and without these two tools... I never would've been able to transition successfully on this journey towards reclaiming my health!

blessings on your journey... you're gunna love the ride!!
