Hope Revvell doesn't mind but I missed this thread. I know the daily appreciations may seem similiar to some but to me the "Creating Abundance" is a about responsibility for outcomes, positive perspective and the possibility in what is, MANIFESTING etc...
The other thread is about having that awesome attitude of gratitude which make the creating and receiving easy. Plus I miss everyones detailed stories on what they have created or what has been created for them.
So here goes...
Several months ago I had the opportunity to sign up for a 40 HOUR Wholistic Health cetification. Made a verbal commitment and inked in the dates on my calendar. As the registration deadline apprioached I stood fast to the thought that I would be in attendance, but the bank account was stating otherwise.
The week the $$$ were due I bought a cashiers check and was prepared to send it (@$600) at the same time hubby had taken ds to the dentist and ran our debit card to cover the cost of a retainer replacement(not covered by insurance) and a little oral surgery( with a 20% copay) :eek: eeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
So three days later here I was redeposititng the check into my account to cover our expenses for the week:( . I email edthe coordinator for the training letting her know I had a financial emergency and asked if I could still hold my spot. A few days later she contacted me and told me I could take the class for free if I wouldn't mind preparing a few RAW VEGAN and VEGAN refreshments.
WOW a nearly $600 class cost me $40 for the book and materials and I had the honor of having 25 folks sample several raw creations,,, Kale chips, raw egyptian candy, RP Brownies, flax crackers and nori rolls.
Spent a few bucks on food but it was worth it for the feedback and idea generation. Plus the food purchases were made 8 weeks after the registration $$$ were due, so I wasn't out of big bucks when it was untimely, just a few bucks later.
Oh and the Wholistic Health Constultant training was AWESOME!!!
After the event I got a request for catering ( which I declined) and a few request for more instruction, details and recipies (which I will follow up on). The beauty was that 25 folks were in the room 22 of which had never eard of the RAW VEGAN lifestyle. I get to wow these folks again next month plus we are starting a yahoo study/ support group and eventually a Wholistic Health net work for our region.
WOW!!!

Here's an article I wrote a few years ago:
Trust is more than just a word.
People tend to throw out the word trust in the same way as "How are you?" and not really meaning it.
They say, "trust me" but how many of us really do, and how many of us really deserve someone's trust?
Con artists take our money and we get nothing but headaches and heartache in return. We hear, "trust me, it won't hurt" and then the pain of the needle sends us through the roof.
The word trust is overused and abused. I think it's time to start putting value back into the word trust. When you say it, mean it! Walk your talk. Be prepared to take the loss if you mess up and break someone's trust. If we are trustworthy, then others can begin to trust, because they know that we mean it when we say it.
I recently had the most amazingly magical experience and I would love to share it with you. I was receiving a reiki re-attunement (since I'm already a Master/Teacher it was a re-attunement) and I got a message during my attunement. The Goddess asked me if I would be willing to trust her. No hesitation, no walking away......if I would be prepared to trust in Her completely. I quickly agreed, saying that I already trust Her and that would not change. If only I knew what I was about to begin.
A few days later I was chatting with my guides and they started talking about a house. We rent our home and have been dreaming of owning our own home, where we can renovate and plant gardens and love the earth that we live on. This dream was, of course, held back because we didn't have a down payment. My guides said that the money would come and that I was to purchase a home and "TRUST" that the money for the down payment would appear when it was needed.
I laughed at my guides and tried to explain to them that it doesn't work that way down here in the land of physical existence. We can't just call up a real estate agent, go looking at people's homes without the money to purchase the home. My guides asked me if I really meant it when I told the Goddess that I trust Her? My response was a quick yes, but..........
My guides told me that if I was to walk my talk about all that I believe in then I needed to trust (there's that word again) the Goddess in Her ability to provide for me.
I told them I do trust her but this is different.
I received this message again during a reading that I was doing with my tarot cards. "Trust Her and She will provide." Oh pleeeease. Like I'm going to walk into a home, fall in love with it and make an offer with no money to back it up! Not a chance.
Aren't those just famous last words? Never say never!
A couple of weeks later my hubby and I were driving down the road and we saw a sign in a yard. The house was for sale and the sign said, "Only $2,000 down and $968 a month." We both looked at each other and agreed that we could do that. We have 2 grand, and we can afford that mortgage amount. I whipped out the cell phone and called the real estate agent.
Once we got in to see the realtor and then the mortgage company's representative, we realized that we needed a lot more than just $2,000. They needed us to have approximately $12,000 in our account and then, (with a cash back on the mortgage), in the end we would only be putting $2,000 down.....but to get there from here there was another $10,000 standing in our way.
My conversations with my guides and the Goddess made me persevere. I told my hubby that perhaps this is what my guides were referring to and that we should just go with the flow. So, I decided to trust.
There were times when I really wanted to throw in the towel. We couldn't find anyone to lend us the money. The homes we were looking at were in awful condition and in areas of town that we wouldn't want to live in. I was feeling so beaten one night. I went outside and spoke directly to the Goddess. I told her that I felt alone and way too stressed out. I needed help. Please, send me some help.
The next day we got a new real estate agent who took care of all our needs. He found us the perfect home. It even had a pond with koi in the back yard and a waterfall. The home's owner loved this house. The yard is fully landscaped, with beautiful flowers and trees, all surrounded by 20 ft. cedars (lots of protection magic in those trees!) We wanted this house...but wait a minute! We don't have the money to buy it! Well, my guides had told me that if I found the house and put in the offer, the Goddess would provide. So we put in an offer.
The morning our offer was accepted and we signed the papers, a friend came over with a cheque. She wanted us to have a home so she lent us the money so we could buy it.
I still laugh when I think about this entire situation. What a blessing the Goddess has brought into our life. All because we chose to trust her. Giving our situation up to Her completely and following her wishes....we now have a magical home of our own.
This was, by far, the most difficult lesson that She has ever taught me. It was very hard to continue with this, faced with so much apparent adversity, but I had promised to trust Her and I wanted to keep my word.
So the next time you feel the path is too steep, the road too rough, the terrain unpassable .....step outside into the night air and have a conversation with the Goddess, and ask Her for assistance. Don't expect Her to take your problems away, but know that She will help YOU get yourself onto a smoother path. Be prepared to take responsibility for your actions, but measure them with trust and love. You WILL be better off because of it.

LifeAgift and Aleesha, Wow! Both your experiences of manifestation are empowering and just WOW!! LifeAgift, not only did you receive the gift of the class but you also got to demonstrate your abilities and start consulting! Aleesha, I've been receiving similar messages about having the home I want and my income has changed dramatically because I'm no longer making the big bucks in the corporate world...but I feel the house and it keeps coming up in my tarot cards also. I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing the story of buying your home. It's just what I needed to hear Right Now. Bless you! :D
I have always known I was abundant, but of course we get in our own way sometimes. But I ssill I affirm I am prosperous and am always provided for daily. I can't tell you how many times I thought I needed more cash or didn't have enough of something and as soon as I changed my thinking and shifted my awareness, it was magically provided. Every single time.
~~~~~~~~
In late February of this year, I was surprised with a large bill a creditor had forgotten to send me last year. I had planned a road trip to visit some friends and the payment came very close to the total all of my expenses for my 2 week trip. I immediatley forgot all about being abundant and was stressed for a week worrying where I was going to find the funds for my trip because I'd made all of these plans. After a couple of days of being distraught, I sat down and just wrote that I would be going on my trip and there would be enough. I just kept affirming it. It took some effort but I was finally able to breathe it into my being and feel it.
Well, let me tell ya one week to the day after I mailed that payment to the creditor, I received a check from them!!! I held that thing in my hand and was like what??? :confused: I couldn't believe it, but I did after I read their letter to me. What happened was they had made a mistake with their accounting and realized I had some kind of credit with them already that balanced my account - it was actually a zero balance. And so they returned my trip money. It was a miracle! And to have my money returned, only a few days before my trip. This just doesn't usually happen even if a large financial institution makes a mistake...it's usually dragged out. I really believe if I stayed stuck in the energy of lack, whoever discovered the error may never have discovered it. You know? We are so powerful. Yeah!
Thanks for starting this thread up again Lifeagift....
I picked a single Tarot this morning and it was the 6 of wands. The whole day felt like little victories and guided by invisible hands opening doors left and right.
I'd like to share a story about somethign that happened a couple of months ago...
Feeling as if we would never be able to own a home in this climate was par for the course...especially here in California where the market was crazy high one minute and diving the next. But even lower prices are very high. In our neighborhood 350k is average AFTER the drop...YIKES.
I had a budget number in mind and was looking at houses but they were all at least 100k over what we could afford. Many even more so. One day hubby randomly said "Lets go look at that new development near our place. "
I replied, "I am NOT buying a house unless it costs my magic number and doesn't have stairs. (I have MS) I want one for my budget price...now, please!" and we laughed it off.
We walked into the sales office and were pounced upon instantly. "Would you be interested in a single level or 2 story home?" I said "Single story". He handed me a flyer that said "SPECIAL" and on it was a 3 bedroom house for my magic number. more than 100k less than asking price. I looked at hubby with my mouth hanging open and said, " I think we're buying a house!"
All I did was state it out loud in the car! We had to sign a confidentiality agreement not to tell the neighbors about our deal. So I had to ask why was this house the problem and why was it on sale. Turns out, the back fence is brick on one side and wooden on the other becasue of the position in the neighbor hood and the yard is small. Well the yard is a perfect size because we live in the desert (less h20 use) and plants etc can camoflauge the fence difference. We also have no kids who need a yard. We bought a house "randomly" but it seemed so intentional that the Universe provided! We are so grateful...
Thanks for sharing your abundant stories....they inspire me to think positive.
I'm loving this...
Yesterday some new friends and I did a pre new moon ritual near the lake. At which time several of the women made statements of gratitude of how wonderful our new relationships and bonds had become. Many even stated that they were looking for these sort of friendships for years.
I was amazed because this group of women was just the sort I had been looking for and prayed for myself. Friends so grand you call them family, women so amazing you love them like sisters.
Our core is about a dozen with others wandering in and out. We are all crunchy, almost off the grid sorts with varying degrees of flexitatrian diets. Most are WAHM, SAHM or students moms with kiddos. All are spiritual representing at least 5 differenet religions or NO FAITH BASED affiliation at all just love and spirituality.
I AM BLESSED!!!
Lifeagift, I'm so glad you found a great group of women to share and be with.
You're going to have so much fun!
Today I feel abundant...
After years of working in my office in an environmental company it's like people woke up this week! We recycle and even have our own recycling center, but people toss recycle ready items in the trash. They poopoo good eating favouring Taco Bell over anything else. But this BPA scare happened...and now everyone is asking me about health, my SIGG bottle, glass, cooking from scratch, avoiding canned foods etc. Something sunk in, the staff woke up and are seeking. They are coming to me to TELL me stuff regarding good health and herbs and containers as they are finding things on the web. Who are these people?!
I feel so abundant right now because of this new awareness in the building. Our next group safety meeting will be about eating more fruits and veggies in the raw for preventative health as well as bottle safety in the field. Not a treatise on wearing a hard hat in the middle of the desert where nothing can fall on your head except a jet. Awareness abounds!
Hope Revvell doesn't mind but I missed this thread.
Of course I don't mind. I've been thinking of posting but.... so much to do, so much to say... so much life to live. Thank you for the reminder that putting it down somewhere assists others in creating their own lives. :) Congrats on being able to do the class!!!!
Everyone who's read the other "abundance" thread knows we got the perfect home for us. Currently we are leasing yet, I'm hoping to eventually purchase. This house was for sale for a year before the owners chose to lease it because they've got another house they are paying the mortgage on. We're blessed because it's got a HUGE yard, front and back and a 6-person jacuzzi, all of which takes water. The land-owners are paying water, trash and gardener. I'm putting out that when we've got steady income from our various jobs that the land-owners get tired of putting out money to maintain this lovely home that they carry the paper w/out interest and therefore getting the price they are asking for and we'll be getting immediate equity rather than paying interest for the first few years. This, or something better. Homes in this area have dropped tremendously! This house is probably worth what they paid for it when they purchased 8 years ago.
I am feeling so blessed that everything worked out as it did with us being able to lease this house; start a garden; have fruit trees, be able to walk the streets which is all hills; be close to the mountains (I'm looking at them over the computer as I type)... etc.
Having said that, I am in the midst of a richness of diversity. My neighbors on one side are black; the other side are Hispanic (he's our gardener). We've got Asian neighbors married to black neighbors; we've got all mixed races and we all live in harmony. The last two places we lived, after 1-2 years, we hardly met or spoke with our neighbors. Here, in less than 2 months, we've sat with them in various situations. Bo's creating a website for the community...
For my business, I'm being asked to speak on a variety of topics. I've got people giving me their business cards asking me to get in touch with them to talk about health issues they, or someone they know, is having.
I'm starting living foods classes again and planning on having a meetup here and a raw food tasting for people who've never had any.
Life is luxurious.
Thank you LifeAGift for this. I've been putting my "wins" in the "appreciations" list and it's just not enough!!! We need to shout it out! No matter where you are now, whatever the situation, put it out there! Find or create a mastermind group and create YOUR life the way YOU want it ~ or better.
Revvell the thought of your neighborhood being so culturally blended makes me misty eyed happy. Happy that we have come this far. When I was little our neighborhood was very divided, as many were in the ancient times, and blended marriages like my parents were rare. Alta Dena sounds fun. I'm thrilled for you and Bo...that you have that great house, business developing all over the place and each other.
Apasaraw,
C'mon up and visit!
I understand what you mean. One of my clients was a white man married to a black woman. At the time this relationship was illegal in almost all the states.
Even in the 70's, I had friends of varying races and backgrounds and would get remarks. It's still not over yet, I love that here, from what I've seen, we've got such a diverse mix of people all coming together, all living in harmony...
Hmmm. A potluck? Most, of course, wont be raw, yet, good way for them to get to know something more about me; and me, them... rather than discussing cell towers. LOL
Thank you for your kind words Apasaraw. I'm hoping we can meet some time in the near future.
Some time ago I made a 40 things to do by 40 list put it on my wordpress blog that I occassionally post on and then I just let it sit there. I occassionally revisit it, marinate on the details and allow the goals to unfold.
Well one goal was to do voice overs, for fun and maybe as another stream of income. Would you guess it but I received and email from a buddy I met/ made in a D.I.D. ( Diversity in Dialogue) training. He just happens to have a studio for music and other production work and out the blue sent me an email asking me to read for a commercial.
He knew not of 40X40 list and I knew not of his profession.
I did a read, didn't get the gig, got paid a little something anyway, and now have a studio quality MP3 Demo. The extra funny part is that after I read for the part it dawned on me that the biz was incongruent with what I personally wanted to represent.
So I think I sent a cancel message to the UNIVERSE:rolleyes:
SO NOT GETTING THE GIG was actually awesome cause it was a voice over for McNasty.
But the experience and first time in the studio was PRICELESS.
I became a whole 'nother being once I put on the headset and stepped up to the MIC.
I was comfortable, felt at home in the studio, and hearing my own voice through the headset was so powerful that it was near ORGASMIC:eek: .
I know crazy right?!?!?! But I am so so serious!!!
Now I'm stoked gonna keep pushing on this one and see where it takes me. Thinkin about tunning in to some of Revvell's podcast training too... HMMMMMMMMMMM
Actually, no, it's not. We get that all the time. In our live class, we have people get on the mic to record their first podcast and once they get on it we can't get them off. It's way cute!
We got one woman speaking and she became top dog of our Board of Directors and now we can't get her to stop talking. Before that she had VERY low self-esteem (extremely overweight) and shy... now she's taking over the world!!!! LOVE to see it.
What's great for me about podcasting is I can say any durn thing I want and there are no FCC regulations to stop me!!! Yippppeee! :D
Yup! We'll be doing classes in the summer. Have someone flying out from Montana for our live class in May. That'll be fun.
ATL? Which? What?
Had a fun time at the meeting; lots of it was boring which is why I don't often go to these things. There was a singer there who was FANTABULOUS and I purchased 3 of her cd's. Part of what I do today is to add them to my iPod.
Another wonderful thing was one of the speakers, Sharron Stroud. I wanna be able to speak as she does when I grow up. Her voice changed in volume, inflection and everything else.
I received a whole life-time of abundance just from hearing these women.
Now, having said that, we did an exercise where each table had to talk about what they felt being an Amazing Woman was. I was nominated to speak from our table. Afterwards, I spoke with a woman who told me that I've got a great speaking voice and what I said and how I said it gave her the chills.
I told June when we were in the car that I thought she was confusing me with someone else and she said "no, I was sitting at the table with her; she knows who you are". So! Fun for meeeee!!! :D
Going to do the garage sale as well. When I was making lotions, body butters and such, I purchased bottles and jars by the CASE! Now that we've got our house, we're able to move all that (and waaaaay more) out of the storage areas and into the garage where we can sort all the stuff we want to eliminate from our lives. Gonna be fun if it's not 100 degrees on the day we plan on holding the sale. :)
:cool: DD16 is going to Spain in a week. A group trip we'd been planning and paying on since the fall. Well a few weeks ago at the last minute the coordinator informs us that hotel prices are up and the dollar is down and that we need to come up with more loot! Uuuuggghhhh I was not a happy camper to say the least.
Changed my thinking, had a yard sale and pulled it together (reported that somewhere earlier).
Well more $$$ kept being needed thanks to Increasing oil, increasing Euro strength etc... The $$$ materialized but then it was cutting into our future months budget and her meal and spending money.
So last week I allowed myself to rant, have a pity party and be pissed for all of 30min. Then very gingerly but with confidence asked the Universe to provide my DD spending and meal money.
Well TADA.....
1. My tight wad, always claiming broke mom is chipping in $100, unsolicited:eek: !!!
2. A friend in a faith I was exploring last year is insiting on contributing "since she missed the yard sale"
3. My part time teaching gig offered a challenge last year regarding continuing ed and receiving a $500 training bonus. A few coworkers did it said the company didn't keep it word. I completed the requirements, emailed a nice note of inquiry and guess what?
Shazaammmmmmmm...$500 tax free was posted to my
e-check stub last night.
Which means I can go buy Euros for DD on Friday!!!!:D
4. The EURO was exchanging $1.60 to $1 last week, yesterday it was $1.58 to $1... yipeeeee! I beleiveing it will get even better by Friday;)
:cool: DD16 is going to Spain in a week. A group trip we'd been planning and paying on since the fall. Well a few weeks ago at the last minute the coordinator informs us that hotel prices are up and the dollar is down and that we need to come up with more loot! Uuuuggghhhh I was not a happy camper to say the least.
Changed my thinking, had a yard sale and pulled it together (reported that somewhere earlier).
Well more $$$ kept being needed thanks to Increasing oil, increasing Euro strength etc... The $$$ materialized but then it was cutting into our future months budget and her meal and spending money.
So last week I allowed myself to rant, have a pity party and be pissed for all of 30min. Then very gingerly but with confidence asked the Universe to provide my DD spending and meal money.
Well TADA.....
1. My tight wad, always claiming broke mom is chipping in $100, unsolicited:eek: !!!
2. A friend in a faith I was exploring last year is insiting on contributing "since she missed the yard sale"
3. My part time teaching gig offered a challenge last year regarding continuing ed and receiving a $500 training bonus. A few coworkers did it said the company didn't keep it word. I completed the requirements, emailed a nice note of inquiry and guess what?
Shazaammmmmmmm...$500 tax free was posted to my
e-check stub last night.
Which means I can go buy Euros for DD on Friday!!!!:D
4. The EURO was exchanging $1.60 to $1 last week, yesterday it was $1.58 to $1... yipeeeee! I beleiveing it will get even better by Friday;)
Working on the ALMS CENTRE content, not posted yet due to the fact that some of what I consider doing may be misconstrued as a conflict with a noncompete I signed with my former coporate GIG:mad: !!! Newletters ready, just fine tuning shopping options and other offerings.
My 2 year liberation anniversary is in October, the noncompete will be expired then and my site will be public and you best believe I'm gonna blow up. I have buisness cards and letter head but I want to fine tune my logo with a pro!
I also have a leisurely wiki wetpaint.com educational forum/thingy I'm working on, not public yet, entitled Wholistic Health and a personal blog outside of RFT that I ramble on sporadically
This thread has been created, re-created and revived... I would think those who are having a really difficult time with abundance would jump on it and the others "Creating Abundance I, II and III, (I think) and see what others are doing to make it happen!
Just thoughts and stuff:
I was laughing the other day because people often start their conversations with: "With money so tight now..."
I've been around for quite some time ~ since just after WW II and, I've never heard anyone start their conversation with: "With money so loose now..."
Money is always there; it's always in the flow and always in the current.
Last Sunday I spoke at two congregations ~ The Crystal Cathedral and The Founders Church ~ back-to-back. That, in itself was a sign of abundance.
I was sooooo high when I was done. Not sure I've come down yet as life keeps flowing!!!
The following Tuesday, I had the opportunity to do the fourth in my series of teleclasses. What a great group of women joined me from RFT, Twitter, the For You Network.. and other places. At the end of the teleclass, Lana gave a great testimonial which, I'm sure, got Twitter folk to sign up for my August teleclass series, who may have been on the edge.
Right after the teleclass, Bo and I went to our marketing meeting where I was asked to give a presentation on something I'd read in Dan Kennedy's monthly newsletter. What fun! I love speaking and sharing my knowledge, understanding and experiences on physical and financial health.
Today Bo came home with more potential speaking opportunities for us.
Also, I called the woman who had set up one of the speaking engagements for Sunday who said she wanted me to come back and do a demo on smoothies. She said they're pretty much booked until the end of the year with speakers and trips but she will get me in for early next year; she also has connections with other places that use speakers and a member of her church had approached me about speaking to her group. I got that name and number and will be calling her.
I'd love to see people jump on this thread and share what's been good for them which will encourage others to be open to living well.
Remember, you may be in the right place at the right time but without the right mindset, you'll not take action and health and wealth take consistent persistence.
Opening to the abundance of the Universe is a beautiful gift to Self.
I find that when I'm worried and stressed about money, it begins to trickle in slowly but when I go with the flow (even if the flow seems to be slowing) it's not slow for long... and simply increases itself. The energy I could have used to worrry... is put to work in different directions!
Open palms can receive, whereas clenched palms receive nothing.
I think people feel the expansion and contraction of the flow of life and see it as 'lack' instead of simply flow. They only honour the expansion process and resist and even resent the contraction. But without contraction, there is no expansion. Just as with the darkness of night - we would not appreciate the brightness of day without the contrast in our lives.
I honour both aspects and all those in between... as it IS life.
Yes, just as hills and valleys are natural. People think we're not supposed to have valleys... they can be lovely depending on one's perception and can't have a hill without a valley. Polarities.
I say 1-year from now and even less. Sometimes people get into a fight and don't even remember what it was about w/in 24 hours. Waste of energy.
I've gotten where, when I get angry, I blow off the energy and it's done. Don't carry it around for the next few weeks, months, etc.
When we're not eaten up w/ anger, the energy can go into creativity. Which is more fun? Holding on to anger or creating a better life?
I am sooo like that as well. I seldom remember why someone is mad at me, or why I was even upset with them LOL I'm a 'live in the moment' kinda person and don't bother with holding resentments.
Even people I don't have in my life anymore... I prefer to focus on the good we had and release the bad/negative. I've learned my lesson... it's time to move forward! I can't get to those hills if I don't walk through the valleys.
I have missed this thread in a way! Life is such a beautiful thing in the way joy of things past return at seemingly random moments.. I have had half a mind of coming back here and share a bit with you for quite a while now, and today it seems I have whole a mind on the subject :p
I find it amusing how the notion of abundance has changed for me, once it was but physical wealth, perhaps with a dab of good health too to enjoy the wealth.. Now it's my whole life, and especially a mindset, an attitude toward being here in the moment.. It's the things I see, the air I breathe, the thoughts that come as an epiphany in the middle of cleaning chores.. Thought I'd share a little of those, the air I breathe is already yours, so let me share a couple of photo's I have taken along with a couple of thoughts which popped up today..
My mate has gotten me a bit into Tao Te Ching, a really interesting philosophy and today it got me thinking.. If when you find yourself overwhelmed by a situation, if you see something big looming over you, think small about it. And if you find yourself dissappointed about a situation, feeling something is smaller than it ought to be, then think big! I guess the two situations can be decribed as acting with optimism and gratefulness, making the best of every situation.. The other thougth was not as much a thought as a curious sensations; try walking relaxed in a fairly undesturbed area, then close your eyes. You may have done this before, but try not to think, feel. Do you move anywhere? Becuase I didn't feel like I did, and I began to wonder if our whole sense of time, distance and movement is just an illusion induced by our senses, especially sight. What to use this for? To be in the moment and to cease to feel like we "need to get somewhere"~ if you do not move, then you are already there, makes sense? It is in other words, to live in the moment, rest within yourself, and at the same time be one with all.. I know this is nothing new, it was but a new experience of it..
And now on to the visual part, I am humbled by the beauty surrounding me, and I am really grateful for what I capture with my camera:
For me, it's a state of mind. It's not just having enough money to do what you want, it's about reveling in the wonders that surround me; it's having a library where I can get books for free; it's about neighbors sharing fruit from their trees; or clients doing the same and me sharing kale chips with him.
It's about a friend saying she quit her job and is traveling for the next few months and reveling in freedom. It's about sharing with others ~ a word, a hug, advice, knowledge, experience....
It's being alive and living here. It's about people, men and women, willing to fight for our freedom; to go into a burning house to save a human, a dog or a cat. It's about the police who are willing to get between two people having a domestic quarrel...
It's about living; it's about life.
Abundance to me is... seeing that there is a natural flow to things and allowing myself to flow within it. No struggle. No stress. Just laying on my back looking at the clouds up high in the sky... allowing my mind to relax.
It's the knowledge that everything has it's place, everything is exactly where it needs to be in this moment and knowing life simply IS. We don't make life, we are life.
Abundance is removing resistance. Be it health issues, chaos, harsh words, any stress or gossip. Remove the resistance and allow.
Cause it really is all about living!
Right now, I am in overwhelm. I just wrote a list of things that need doing and what I've written isn't all of it.
We knew when we moved here that our lives were going to change and shifts were going to happen. Well, they did. Right now, the earth is moving under our feet (literally, at one point).
For me, I've had the opportunity to speak at Crystal Cathedral and The Founders Church ~ both on the same day. Both groups said they wanted me to come back and a woman at the latter church said she wants me to come and speak to her group. I create income from these groups by selling books, dvds and teleclasses. These are the steps needed to actually be paid for speaking.
Together, Bo and I have been asked to present at "Speak Your Way to Wealth (http://www.kickstartcart.com/app/?af=613029)" and now, the "Business Builders Bootcamp". We've also got our own classes going here, at home, on Web 2.0 and my August teleclasses currently in progress.
Within all this I need to stay focused on getting people to interview for my podcasts, update my Weekly Revvellations, write my blog... keep the For You Network (http://4younetwork.org/kcscripts/brochures/Pasadena/)meetings updated, raw food meetups (http://rawfood.meetup.com/462/) that I hold here... sheesh!
I've heard people say that you can create your life from wherever you are. I've probably said it myself yet, it's very interesting the feeling we had when we moved here. It was such a powerful knowing that moving HERE was what was going to take us over the edge. All the time before that was preparation for it.
As I'm writing this, I hear Loral Langemeier say that at first, you may have to do what you don't like but what you are good at. The only time I've done what I didn't like was when I was working for other people and even then I've mostly been doing what I wanted ~ just that in some cases, I had to do my thing their way ~ if that makes sense.
Learning more about how the internet works and how to connect it all together and finding the easiest way to do so. Feeling the resistance to learning more of the "techie" stuff. Lots of writing and brain-dumping as well as looking at what it is I really want to do yet still allowing the universe to take me where it wants.
I had no clue that I would still be talking about Web 2.0. The more I resist, the more the universe offers it to me so, o.k., I'll talk about it. I love to talk, I love the feeling of seeing people "get it", I love to present things in ways I needed to hear things so "I" could get "it" AND, I love the high after speaking. Who needs drugs? Good food, good fluid, fresh air daily ~ and speaking!
We'll most likely be doing some webinars on various social media after we've presented it a few times. Want to get it so it's understandable to non-techies like me. What's funny is, no matter how much we learn, there's more to learn as the internet is moving SO fast!
Oh! AND, many of you know I signed up for Loral Langemeier's programs; did them for a year. Best thing I got out of them was a kick-in-the-pants to get my business up and running which I did, taking my hubby along with me for the ride. The other day we received a call from one of Lorals joint venture partners wanting to know more about what we know and seeing if we can partner up somehow. They've got the people; we've got the know-how. How cool is that?
Well, I'm going out and clear my head. Movement, breathing in the freshest air of the day, is definitely a necessity to keep me going.
Y'all have fun now,
Revvell
When you get going Revvell, you REALLY GO! :D
Okay, you and I both know that we're at different places in our businesses, but that we're BOTH crazy busy with all we have going on. After you're done taking a DEEP breath, I would consider trying to find a personal assistant. That's what I'm trying to work on right now. Figuring out how I can get that to work out so that I can multiply my time and efforts.
I was thinking of all the things I need help with (and with A getting ready to leave, it's a LOT), and a lot of positions came to mind (bookkeeper, CPA, house cleaner, and this list goes on and on). And then I thought about a friend of mine, from here on RFT. She has her own business, hubby works, sometimes has business trips, has young children, special needs in the family, and is going to homeschool. And she hired a personal assistant. Because a personal assistant can do some of just about everything. And right now, THAT's what I need more than anything. Someone who can do the what are the smaller steps, so I can work on the bigger ones (including making sure I get time with my kids). So now I'm working on generating income for that to happen.
Don't know if any of that'll help you. I don't even think you were necessarily looking for advice, but just thought maybe that could help you in some way hopefully?
BTW, Loral's doing a cash machine this coming weekend in Atlanta (15-17) and I got something in the mail and email. Can't go. Actually won't go right now. You know why? I'll be busy WORKING MY CASH MACHINE! Have to take hubby to airport and do shopping and do a class on Sunday!:D
No, wasn't looking for advice, but thank you for the reminder. One of June's employees is leaving her to go to nursing school and she's supposed to be moving over our way. We're looking to see how she can help us since we work from home so she can do a lot of stuff after her schooling and/or on weekends whereas June's office is open only certain hours. Also, there are people in India who can do a lot of stuff for us for like $5-$10 an hour. I'll let you know about that option as well.
You don't need to go to a Cash Machine. You've GOT it as you say.
You're welcome. What's interesting to me is, how people will tell you you have to be able to imagine it to achieve it... not true. As you say here "see it all grow beyond my imagination". What I do know is, I can only imagine from my limited knowledge and experience but the universe, being unlimited, can open itself up waaaay beyond that and if I step into the unknown, great things happen.
Amen to that Revvell, and that is the wonder I want to behold, that is what I want to contribute to, to be a part of.. I have always thought I wanted to work on solo projects, but I want to see it grow beyond that, I want to see what others can do with what I can do, it could for instance take my photography to a dimension I cannot even now imagine! Interesting. What I heard in my head when I read that is, is anything really ever solely ours? I've seen myself hold onto things thinking they were mine and once I let go, finding more coming in ~ wider, larger perspectives.
I just let go of a project someone wanted me to do. My heart wasn't in it so, I let it go. Spoke with one of the other women involved and she changed it to make it her vision and she's wayyyyy excited and I'm excited to go to it.
How fun life is with all these awarenesses. Thank you for sharing yours Nenyath.
Interesting dilemma has come up. One of the things many people of wealth talk about is creating a team once one gets some inflow. Team can be more than just an assistant ~ it can be someone who cleans your home/office so you have time to work and create the $$. It can be someone who runs errands, buying groceries, making food; just handling all the mundane things of the day.
One of the mundane things I'm going to do today is write down all the things someone else, being paid (plus/minus) $10 an hour can do for me and He including finding and booking guests for my podcasts, writing up the blurb for the podcasts, uploading them; getting quality "friends/followers" on my social media sites; creating and finding pertinent articles for my newsletter and there is SO much more!
The premise behind having an assistant, virtual or otherwise is, if one is being paid say $50 an hour, why would they spend their time doing $10 an hour work. If they make more, even more reason to have someone doing the mundane tasks.
What's going to be interesting is to see if one is more productive when all that routine stuff is taken away ~ or not.
It's sort of like moving into a place one can't afford at the moment, then seeing if one will create the income to keep it.
What do they say? Jump and the net will appear?
How many times have I had that happen where I've quit a job ~ or left a man ~ and something better came up?
Injoy,
Revvell
Great post Revvell!:D
I've thought about that too (the whole creating the income to support the hire). For me, it's not just about me getting the other work done. There is MOST DEFINITELY that, but there's also the freeing up of my time so I can have more with the kids. If I'm doing the big and little stuff, and all the stuff in between, and trying to have a quality of life at the same time, it's going to take me longer than I want to make it all happen. However, if someone else is taking care of the smaller things, I can focus on the bigger AND the family, have it done in a time table that works better for me mentally, AND stay sane!:)
Maybe you could also write a list of what you would be getting done instead of the smaller stuff to help keep you on track and moving in the direction you want to move in, so that when distractions come up, you could use that to help you focus? Just a thought (as much for myself as for you and anyone else who could use it).;)
Shine,
Thanks for the family perspective. Absolutely true. People get so busy doing biz they have no time for their kids and hire babysitters instead of hiring someone to do the mundane so THEY can be with their kids instead of the babysitters! GREAT idea!
O.k., here's how to work this. When writing up a list of "to-do's", make two columns. (I use a steno book so, that's already there). On one side, write the things YOU have to do; on the other, write up things you can delegate out.
Thanks for the brainstorming.
Whew! has our life taken a major upswing?
I told Bo I needed some new podcast expert (http://www.cafepress.com/revvellations/5162584) t-shirts since we'll be presenting at Speak Your Way to Wealth (http://www.kickstartcart.com/app/?af=613029) this coming weekend and will be there for 3 days and, I only have one and didn't think I should wear it all 3 days.
Well, CafePress had a storekeepers' 20% off sale, I get to write it off as a business expense and don't have to pay tax since purchasing online.
At Speak Your Way to Wealth (http://www.kickstartcart.com/app/?af=613029) we have the opportunity to create a really good piece of change because we're offering a 2-day event for $1297.
On the 30th, we're having a 4-hour local event and are looking to fill the room.
In September, we're holding a 4 day webinar on web 2.0 in conjunction with Marsh Engle (http://www.marshengleshow.com/)who interviewed me yesterday on her show (http://www.marshengleshow.com/).
On Sept. 12, 13, and 14, Rawkin Radio (http://RawkinRadio.com) is headed out to Raw Spirit Festival for some live interviews with speakers there. We've got basically free room and board from someone who lives out there who I interviewed on Celebrating Your Potential (http://www.CelebratingYourPotential.com).
Yesterday, our class was advertised on a local list and we immediately got a sign-up AND someone from a local online paper emailed and asked if he could chat with us about what we're doing. We chatted for some time ~ he's got BIG plans on what he wants to do and we have an appointment with him on Thursday.
Last night some people called and asked if I'd like to be in a movie along the lines of "Pass It On" and/of "The Secret". Ummm, well, let me think about this... I can't divulge anything on this at this time but I was told to call the producer and request the package.
We also have a chance to present at Better Business Bootcamps (http://betterbusinessbootcamps.info/). Still waiting on that.
How exciting is this???? Yikes!!!! and Yayyyyy!!!!
Um, guess that's it for now.
Injoy and enjoy!
Yay indeed Revvell! Wow! Awesome! I'm so happy for the two of you! This whole post is just radiating enthusiasm and potential, wow!
As for a pretty long overdue reply to an earlier reply you made to an even earlier reply of mine here..
is anything really ever solely ours?
To reply to that, no, I don't think so, and thats the whole point! Inspiration is not some isolated instance of a lightbulb being lit above some person's head, a far cry from it! Inspiration as I see it is a wave, not only gathering momentum as people get enthusiastic about it, but also sparking other waves of inspiration in other places, producing ideas so different from the original idea that the inspired idea is original in itself, but is still energized by the first idea... Does this make as much sense in writing as it does in my heart? For my pictures, I'm inspired by the Ashes and Snow collection, by nature, by music, by these two threads, by my dreams of life... The list goes on.. I try not to be a dragon with my ideas and the product of them, not to hoard them away into a useless pile of glittering stuff which is even hard to sleep on.. I want to share it, share the inspiration, see that wave grow, feeling the strenght of it's momentum!!
Nenyath - beautiful reply w re: to an earlier post! One question though - has there ever been a time in your life when your energy was unaware of something that was slowing/holding you back? Sometimes it just takes hearing another perspective from a friend/teacher/coach that just makes something "click" (light bulb moment) and you know it's right (clarity). You then move ahead in a more positive direction and everything just flows.
Gotta go - luv all you gals! ~ Cathy
Have I? Oh yeah! Often too.. Inspiration and insight for me is something sparked from others, which is why I have a problem with teachings which holds that you must look within for insight and peace.. Sure, but for me looking without, is also looking within, as the whole world is part of me.. Wouldn't want to separate myself from my surroundings!
Have a date to film whatever it is I will be filming on September 18th. I don't know if that means I get to be a part of the movie, the blog, the tv show... whatever!
I've also got an interview with Deborah Dachinger on KCLA FM http://www.deborahdachinger.com on October 23rd. I guess that'll be saved for future listening.
What's interesting here is, learning to not get overly excited about these things (whatever overly excited means) or get disappointed when I submit something and it doesn't happen. I'm just seeing it as part of a process of living to my fullest potential.
Pretty much what it is. we were talking about it in class yesterday how we can get very excited about something and be disappointed if it doesn't go through ~ then we're on that roller coaster ride. Works both ways though ~ when someone gives a compliment, don't get attached; when someone gives a complaint, don't get attached. Not personal either way. This is SUCH a learning or re-learning experience for me.
Preparing today for the Speak Your Way to Wealth conference. Went a few places to get some food ~ already have flax crackers... needed some fresh kale for chips. Have zucchini for chips already.
Checked out mineral make-up for t.v. appearances. Not bad. Takes away the shine w/out all the goop ... just powdery stuffs.
Bo got into Better Business Bootcamps which means I'll possibly be presenting with him ~ then again, maybe not. lol
Figuring out what to do with my latest URL's.... "Let's Talk Raw", "Speak Your Way to Wealth" and "I Don't Barter"... o.k., the last one was sort of a whim but maybe can get a book going on it thanks to Apasaraw's idea.
I want to build a community of sorts using the first two and thinking of doing a multi-speaker event with SYWtoW.
Yesterday was interesting. Not ONE of the speakers sold to more than 2-3 people immediately after. We can't figure if they are just collecting purchase orders and going to make their choices on Sunday or what but even one who is billed as a "Pursuasive Speaker" and who TEACHES people how to sell from the stage on had 1 buyer that we saw. Scary for the organizers.
Putting out the energy that today will be better and we get to kick it off!!!!
Please send good vibes that those who need to learn what we teach will join us.
A bit of abundance from here as well, ideas! It's glorious! After 1½ years of wondering how I am going to frame my pictures, I now just let the ideas come.. I figured I had been thinking about it as a strict necessity in order for me to take my pictures to another level, further more I had seen it as a "I must fígure out a way to do this, it needs to be this, and that, not quite like that however" and so on.. There was this distance and resistance. When I realized that, and realized I had actually been holding myself at a distance from my target, I let that notion go. Not half a day passed before I knew what I want, and how I want it, even also some of the kind of people I need to connect with.. Also came up wth another great idea first thing this morning, won't share right now, may come back to it later though!
I went to a meeting after the teleclass last night. Wanted to stay home with Himself but since the topic of the evening was Twitter, He wanted me to see how it was presented... so, I dragged myself down there.
After the presentation, the presenter introduced me and told the folks that Bo and I are "experts" at social media and we're holding a class this coming Sat. I was able to stand up and tell about it. Received about 6-8 requests for more information which I sent out this morning.
Also, I mentioned that I work with baby boomer aged women on health issues. That got me a URL to an event happening in Scottsdale Arizona. I'm going to apply to speak there.
This morning a friend called and told me about a place in Huntington Beach we already know about. We spoke to the owner about my presenting there previously and he said my name wasn't big enough. So, a year later, I'm told to give it another try from some people who chatted with him last night.
AND, I received a name of a gent who works in this country and Korea, I think. Possibility of him getting Rawkin Radio out to wherever it is he lives/works.
I guess that's it for now! Oh no! When I came home, Bo had made a luscious glass of orange juice for me. THAT was certainly a treat, eh?
Ooookayyyy, more potentially good stuffs.
At Speak Your Way to Wealth there was a couple of women who approached us talking about this university they are creating called Quattro.. based on Wealth, Health, Leadership and Legacy. The put together a powerful presentation. The two women are young and multi-millionaires. They know their stuff.
They invited us after seeing us speak to come to their presentation as they are looking for teachers. They are definitely interested in podcasting, social media and all the stuff Bo can teach.
During the presentation I mentioned that the reason I started podcasting was to introduce the world to raw foods and natural healing. Since they've got a section on Health, I may be contributing there as well.
They pay for transportation, lodging, and teaching. Not bad, eh?
We're not promoting this until we see if they can back up their talk. Seems as though they can but we'll see. We're having a meeting with them on Sunday to learn more.
Just sent out 3 potential presentations to speak at an even in December in Scottsdale Arizona. We'd love to be there in the winter methinks. It happens at the same time the color management convention is being held in Phoenix and I'm thinking someone I know would like to be there then.
This is all an amazing adventure for us.
Energy work. Lots of energy work. I'm finding that I'm not resonating with many of the stones I used to... now it's mostly moldavite and apophylite that I resonate with... although I acquired an amazing piece of alexandrite in a ring and another piece of chrysocolla in a pendant which I'm finding uniquely wonderful!
Heading out on a new adventure today ~ Raw Spirit Festival! We've chosen to drive so we can spend much time together (even if I WILL sleep a lot on the drive ~ bringing me pillowwww!)...
Here's abundance ~ I get in for free because I have a weekly on-line "radio" program (I had to prove it), and He got in for half-price as my engineer. Also, because of interviewing someone on Celebrating Your Potential (http://celebratingyourpotential.com), we have a place to stay for the whole time in exchange for Bo teaching the owners of the house how to podcast (he says I pimped him out ~ ummm, o.k., I'll go along with that :D. Might have to teach them some social media stuff which will be fun.
We're leaving this morning, Wednesday and taking our time on the drive out; bringing food, water and lemonade. I'm bringing my pillowwwww, Indian Clubs, Kettlebells, fitness balls, etc. I want this to be a "working" time for us, getting interviews, BUT, I also want to enjoy it and show up when we want to and maybe even stay a day later than planned. We WERE going to come back on Monday but could possibly stay until Tuesday.
We've not been out and about for this long for quite some time soooo, we are going to have FUN!!!!
O.k., this is fun. Bo and I are sitting in a coffee house. I'm working on an application to appear in a movie and He's doing whatever. First, a woman named Annie comes up, introduces herself and says she listens to RawkinRadio (http://rawkinradio.com) all the time and wanted me to know that. Gave a GREAT, firm handshake and walked away.
Next, a gentleman came over, said he works in the entertainment industry and asked if he could give me his card... does post production work. We exchanged cards.
I feel like a shrekkin' celebrity. How fun is that?
Went to a party hosted by Renegade Health guy, Kevin Gianni (http://renegadehealth.com/blog/) and saw Matt Monarch, Health Ranger Mike Adams (http://www.healthranger.org/) and a whole bunch of folk from Twitter.
More stuff soon. Probably update all this evening or tomorrow a.m. on my blog. (http://revvellations.com/weekly/)
I have a couple of things to share.
First of all, be wary your thoughts. Because sometimes, the LOA DOES work fast! Let me explain:
I had a meeting yesterday with a gentleman from YourDay ETC. They were interested in having me tour the facility and check them out and see if I would be interested in giving classes on raw foods to their clients. So, I look and look and LOOK for this one pair of shoes I have. Their like sandals/flip-flops, but dressier and with a heel. Now some of you know I sprained my ankle just over a month ago. Well, I FINALLY found them, and wore them yesterday for said meeting. Before I walked in, I thought, "Watch, I'll end up falling in these shoes". Sure enough, after the man I was to meet with came down, there was an uber-smooth spot on the floor, my right foot slipped, and down I went.:o I recovered just fine, I didn't hurt too bad from it until this morning, and at least my foot was fine. We went on to have an AMAZING tour of the place, and it looks like we'll be working together in the coming months! I laughed when I fell. He asked if I was okay. I said, "Sure, I just do that sometimes!" He then laughed and said I was trying to make sure that they didn't forget me. I told him, "Yep, that's me! Unforgettable as the girl who fell!" So humor got me through it, and we had a great time, and he's even interested in me educating him more on autism and the dangers of vaccines (he had a nephew born just three days ago and wants his brother to be fully informed).
Anyhow, like I said, be careful your thoughts, they might turn into reality sooner than you think, and if it's not a good thought, watch out!:p
Now on to the good part! This place is all about making every day YOUR day, and they have corporate client lists the likes of which are pretty impressive. Soooooo... I'm hoping that this will not only get me in there to give classes, but may also help me get the box program going with a vengence! :D I will let ya'll know how it goes!:D
Just back from the filming. They were actually using film which, of course, is strange at this time.
Anyway, I stood in front of a HUGE piece of green cloth. Wonder what they're going to put behind me?
They'd originally given me about 32 pages of directions, instructions and questions which they wanted at least 3 days before the shoot. Got most of the questions done in Sedona and mis-read some so had to ad-lib. AFTER we were done with the questions, I was asked if I would do a :30 speech. Uh, oh, o.k., I can do that. :rolleyes:
We were scheduled for a 4-6 hour shoot; knocked it out in 3 1/2. The cameraman, Jay, said after the first take "I know this is going to be a good day".
Anyway, this is going to be exciting! Everyone who came in will be on the website with their own page ~ about 80 women so far (and a few men); many will be on the dvd and they'll be releasing new dvd's to go with the main one every month. I'd LOVE to get into the original.
Had a GREAT time with a GREAT crew. EVERY one of them came over, introduced themselves and shook hands. Never had that happen with a crew before.
Anyway, it's done. Now, the waiting. Thought it would be a wonderful birthday present for THAT film to come out and me be in it, eh?
Quiet yet good class yesterday. We were teaching Social Media and I posted it on Twitter and quite a few people responded. That was cool. That class was jazzed about how quickly people responded and that they did.
From the class, Bo's got at least one commitment for creating a website. He got her hooked up with a really good webhost that'll save her a LOT of money; then had her purchase some domain names including her own.
We'll be going to June's class this afternoon to promote our next class. We're changing the format. Instead of doing a straight 6 hours, we'll break it into two Saturday a.m.'s; 3 hours each. The folks go into too much overwhelm and can't function at all after 6 hours.
I made a peach and a peach/pear cobbler for breakfast and afternoon snacking; a HUGE salad for lunch. Mint water and orange water (half fresh oj and half water) for all day. Seems that worked o.k. as we were all busy getting in as much training as we could.
Today? More catch-up from being gone.
Oh! Check out my blog (http://www.Revvellations.com/weekly) if you will. Posted something about raw food I'd love to receive comments on. TIA!
Today I am celebrating an abundance of that thing that is most important to me, spiritual abundance. I had an incredible weekend with two trips to a monastery. They were blessed with a visitation of a myrrh weeping icon. The air with thick with the fragrance as well as the spiritual energy. It was a reminder to me that this is what is important. The worldly abundance will be supplied as it is needed if I keep focused on the spiritual abundance I have at hand.
I just posted my response to Revvell's blog (now, whether or not she'll approve that comment may be another story, I think I was more than a tad fiesty)! But I re-read it after I hit submit. And I realized something that I knew before, but lost track of in recent weeks. I am blessed in amazing abundance in a certain area..... time.
Now, don't get me wrong, most days it surely doesn't feel like it. And ever since I was I think 10 or 11, I've always said I needed a 48 hour day to get everything done I want to get done (and even then, I'd probably say it needed to be 72). Anyway, you get the picture. Well, I said that one day to my mom, and she told me this, "Shine, we all have the same 24 hours in a day, no more, no less. It's how you choose to use those hours that will determine what you get done and how you'll feel about it."
Then during a class with Revvell, she had remarked that I work like I have a 48 hour day, or something to that affect. Not that in the respect that it takes me longer to do things (unless they're techie), but that I put SO much into my 24 hours, it seems like 48. Well, I have to give credit where credit is due. First, my mom, for pointing that out to me so that I could then realign my thinking at get more done. The Army, or I should say the fact that I joined. Because in basic, you really do get more done before 9 am than most people do all day. Lastly, my kids, for coming so close together. With them, I learned if I don't get it done NOW (the 2 seconds where every one was content), then I never will.
Then there's my life that I have now. With so much to do, and only 24 hours, and me wanting to make sure everyone's needs/wants/and relative happiness are met, I DO try to make sure I get to all I can in a day. But notice I didn't say everything. I never get to everything every day. Every day, something falls through the cracks a little, and that's okay. But I have 24 hours, that's 1440 minutes or 96 15-minute increments. Try planning a day around that. Include getting sleep, showering, getting ready, and then map out the rest of your day. I think you'll find you have more time than you realize, but a lot of 15 minute pockets that you've dawdled away without even realizing it. Try it, see what you come up with. I think you'll find, you have more time than you thought you needed after all. And guess what, it's the same 24 hours I have!;)
I have received a small amount of abundance which I am hoping will grow. Our office has lost several clients because of the economic down turn in the housing market (we had a lot of home builders as clients). I told my boss yesterday our only hope is to try to attract some medical professionals. I also told him that I would personally like to have some of the naturopathic/holistic providers because that's what I believe in.
Lo and behold, today we get a new client. A holistic practioner that teaches RAW FOOD courses. I told my boss I don't think I will have any trouble connecting with this client.:D
I made the comment yesterday that I thought that those who say they couldn't afford raw foods haven't tried forming relationships with the right people. Revvell thought I should expand on that here, and I thought she made a good point, so I wrote about it in my blog rawlife-sunshine (http://rawlife-sunshine.blogspot.com) and it got kind of lengthy, but I'll repost some of it here.
"Where I live now, I'm so blessed. I live about an hour away from Your DeKalb Farmer's Market. It's HUGE, you can find it on google, and it has almost everything I need to eat/stay raw. But I still have formed some more local relationships with some people that help me even further. There's a great guy named Scott who has a farmer's stand just up the road from where I live. He sells 4-6 tomatoes (depends on the size of the tomatoes) in a container for $4. However, I can buy them by the case for $20-$30, depending on what he buys it for. He sells them to me for cost. He's a great guy, and tomatoes aren't the only thing I buy from him. But he gave me his cell number, so now, anytime I want some tomatoes, all I have to do is call, and he'll make sure to have them for me every time! :)
Before we lived where we do now, we lived in Augusta, Ga. for a bit. This was before they built Earth Fare there. So there was a small health food store, and then a small specialty store up the road from that. Neither one was cheap. Oh, and since I neglected to mention it, then I was the only one raw, the rest of the family at that point was eating anywhere from 30-50% raw or so. And we were doing it on one income and that being military pay to boot. The rest of the family was eating GFCF to help J with his issues with that in regards to his autism. So I had to be careful with our money, and still get everything we needed. Well, after a few trips into the commissary, and seeing that I spent a lot of time in the produce department, EVERYONE there knew me and would cut open new fruits each time for the kids to try. And they would save their bananas for me that had started to spot and I was able to buy PERFECTLY ripe bananas for 19 cents/pound!
None of these relationships took any extra time or effort on my part to cultivate. I was already there just doing my thing. All it took was me being open and honest about what I was doing, and asking questions. Like, how much would a case cost me? I see you put out the spotted one for reduced, is there anyway you could save me a ton of them? What kind of fruit is that? Is it sweet, sour, bitter, soft, tangy? I have found most everywhere I've been, that anyone who works with produce lights up when you start asking them questions about their area of expertise. And most are willing to explain anything you need, and check on case pricing and work out a deal if you'll be regular about your purchases. And in my case, they're willing to be regular, because they know I'll be regular, at least until it's time to move again. So talk to people when you're out shopping. If you don't see a particular fruit you'd like to try, ask them if they can get it (though don't be disappointed if they tell you it's not in season yet). Ask questions about buying in bulk. Most people who work in produce will take an interest in you, if you take an interest in them! :D The worst they can do is say no, and you haven't lost anything in the process, and if they say yes, well, then you've just scored! :)"
You can read the full post on my blog.
Hope this helps some of you that may not have realized that yummy food is just a relationship away!
I do the same thing! I have different markets that will order me in caselots and always give it to me cost. I know Costco sells pineapples at the best price so I go there and stock up... often buying 7 at a time, juicing them and freezing the juice. It's amazing what you can do if you put in a little effort and take time to chat with the employees and owners!
-waves little flag for Shine- That's exactly what I do! Where I buy my fruits and greens I know of the whole family almost and I often get a little talk with whoever is behind the desk. I can order organic bananas there by the case (18kg) but for a price of only about 35$ if my math hasn't failed me completely. It's also often I get a mango or some 5oog box of berries for free.. Similarly at my nutman I can order organic raw almonds (checked them, they spout!) at retail price, he doesn't make a cent on them, except ofcoruse that I come there often for other things as well.. I rather love that. Thing is you just have to talk a little to people, you never know connection reveal themselves!
Today has just been amazing! I have chosen to focus more on MY work instead of OUR work or HIS work and BAMM!
I got two, fairly local speaking engagements ~ one a 2-day in Scottsdale Arizona which, although it's an all-day drive it is a beautiful one and it'll be cheaper than flying and shipping my books, VM, etc. I get to spend the day talking about raw food, making smoothies, etc.
The second one is a local health fair where I get to do the same ~ sell books, demonstrate smoothies, talk about raw and healing.
I also did about a 1 hour interview with my teacher for RawkinRadio (http://RawkinRadio.com) this morning. He wasn't happy because he thought we should have talked more about his healing center, the work he does. I felt it best for people to get to know who he is first and why people should listen to him other than knowing me.
I'm also getting more long-time raw and raw advocates on the show ~ people many are not familiar with. Aris has been 100% raw for 32 years; I just received a request from another person who has been raw for 40 years.
The "Healing Cancer" and "Eating" dvd's are now selling (as they should) so the word is getting out about how the lifestyle is the cause of so many diseases and educating people on the changes they need to make.
I've also been getting emails telling me that I'm receiving $$$ from some affiliate sales.
Oh! I'm also going to be interviewed on Thursday on a show that will come out in 3 weeks!
VERY cool!
All I did was tell the universe it was my time ~ time to get out there and speak, create more income doing so and sharing my knowledge, understanding and experiences with people through speaking, interviews, group and one-on-one counseling. Whoo hooo!!!!
Okay so I spent some time, during David Wolfe's interview on Rawkathon to make myself a new 'what I want' graphic for my desktop on my puter.
I wrote down all the things I'd like to create in my life. That was - what - two days ago? I've had 3 phone calls since then of people asking me to get together to teach them how to eat raw. I figure this is the Universe telling me what my next step is.
So... I don't know how much to charge for this service? Anyone have any suggestions for me?
10-23-2008, 10:04 AM
One class or for individuals? If a class, make sure they can all get together on the same day so it's worth your while. That will determine how much to charge.
WHAT do they want to learn? Actual food prep or.... just a class talking about the basics with food samples?
Aleesha Sattva
10-23-2008, 10:08 AM
they want to learn. so i sit, explain the difference between raw foods and cooked/processed foods on their bodies. talk about how to make a green smoothie, juice, raw foods... and answer their questions.
some of them come over and use my juicer to make themselves juice. (i have two different people doing this right now).
but it's individual - not class (at this time anyway). i just fulfill whatever it is they need.
at this point, i haven't added food samples but i certainly could in the future.
Not only your time but your experience and knowledge is worth something. (Not to mention electricity and wear and tear on your juicer). So, you're essentially become their coach.
What's your time, knowledge and experience worth to you? Also, if you charge will they still come and if not, how are you with that?
If you continue gratis, can you at least get referrals who you can charge?
Aleesha Sattva
10-23-2008, 10:48 AM
I was contemplating.. $100 for coaching. This would give them 2 afternoon sessions with me to do whatever they desire. They would have access to my recipe collection and books (Green for Life etc) Plus unlimited emails and short phone calls.
Does that sound fair or too much??? I guess I am the only one can answer that? But perhaps others can say what they would charge for this? Perhaps???
Oh and just borrowing the juicer... could be $10 or $15 an hour? That's without discussion of raw foods attached to it. Just general chit chat...
Revvell
10-23-2008, 10:58 AM
So, basically you're charging $50 per hour per person? How about just saying $50/hour. Unlimited email? Do they email much?
They bring their own produce for juicing? Do you need to be there or they have access whenever?
Aleesha Sattva
10-23-2008, 03:44 PM
no... $50 per afternoon... so basically 2-4 hours per afternoon.
unlimited email... and at this point they don't email much cause i haven't begun to offer it yet LOL
yes they bring their own produce for juicing and yes i am here when they are using my juicer.
Yesterday, I was invited to a "visioning" at Agape so they could see what's in the future for their raw food group. Part of my going was to see when I could present, for how long, etc.
About 6 people showed up and one from Tennessee by phone.
We decided on a couple of people looking to create a community garden; possibly holding a Raw Day there in May; I'll be speaking on Feb. 8th (great birthday gift, eh?), selling my books, dvd's, etc.
So, in November, I've got two places to hold demos ~ both local. First one, I get the booth for free, the second, I get $100 off since I'll be purchasing cups and produce to share smoothies.
Then, I'm headed for Scottsdale Arizona for the "Festival of the Wise".
February, is Agape.
That's it for the Rawkinpalooza tour so far! (Apasaraw gave it the name)
If you know of places I can speak.. please, let me know. I'm campaigning to get on stage at the next Raw Spirit Festival in Santa Barbara in June.. also.. another Women's expo in Ventura in March. Waiting for the outcome of putting out 5 topics to speak on there.
Oh! I recently did an interview w/ our own Aleesha of Timeless Spirit (http://www.timelessspirit.com/); one w/ Marsh Engle (http://www.modavox.com/voiceamericacms/WebModules/HostModaview.aspx?ShowId=469&BroadcastId=13521&ScheduleTime=13&Flag=1)
(look for 8/18)
Also, just did one with Deborah Dachinger which will be posted in a couple of weeks!
Life is good!
Today has just been amazing! I have chosen to focus more on MY work instead of OUR work or HIS work and BAMM!
...
I'm also getting more long-time raw and raw advocates on the show ~ people many are not familiar with. Aris has been 100% raw for 32 years; I just received a request from another person who has been raw for 40 years.
....
All I did was tell the universe it was my time ~ time to get out there and speak, create more income doing so and sharing my knowledge, understanding and experiences with people through speaking, interviews, group and one-on-one counseling. Whoo hooo!!!!
Revvell
I'm loving it. What an easy way to get what you want. Just speak it!!!
I have a borrowed copy of Aris Raw food prep DVD's, awesome so so good. Will purchase my own set soon.
Don't ya just love those affiliate $$$ ???
I've been focusing on efficiency lately instead of lack of time and it's amazing how much is getting accomplished in the same 24
hours.
Got on a bike yesterday for the first time in decades ( other than a stationary for spinning class) and it felt so so good to be going going going! Gonna take up cycling for exercise and me time!
I try to learn from the past, but I plan for the future by focusing exclusively on the present. That's were the fun is. ~Donald Trump
Yesterday I received an email from someone who wants me to provide food for an event they are having in July. I can do whatever I want, sell it and keep the cash.. Am paying for a booth so will be selling my books, dvd's etc.
Two health fairs this month; Festival of the Wise in December; Agape in February; (probably) Raw Spirit Festival in June; potentially a women's expo in July PLUS a Holistic Expo in July.
A radio interview with Marsh Engles and another (up soon) w/ Deborah Dachinger.
I realized it was time for me to put myself out there... told the universe what I wanted and it shows up!
Woke up (and got up) about 3 this a.m. with an idea for another way to get the word out about raw and to have people connect with some of the biggest raw food advocates in the world. More on that soon.
Loving it.
Here is an odd one...
So I'm in my 2nd MBA course, long story about how me the alternative health godess got on this path but I know it's for a purpose.
Anyway the course is managerial accounting:mad:. I'm cool with numbers, just not big on reading 2 chapters a week plus dozens of articles about stuff I'm yet to be really interested in.
So anyway. I complete the first few assignments with a few points nicked of here and there for misc. errors.
On the last round of assignments I changed my thinking.
I did a cost benefits analysis related to be invovlved in the class and program as a whole and decided that in an effort to maximize my investment I had to dig in, get all I could out of the concepts and get ready to apply this knowledge to something really really big.
So anyway, plucking away at what should have been a boring paper I just kept visualizing all the consulting I could do for my entrepeneural friends and how important it was for me to ace this material so that I could condense it for those who had giftings in other areas.
GOT a 100% on that last assignement, wooo hooo
But more importantly just two classes in and I was able to provide consulting for a friend of mine who is starting a school. In a 2 hour conversation we were able to properly direct her efforts, align her vision and lay a path for what she is really passionate about. I also got her realistically looking at the financial piece so that she could be very clear on the request she made to the UNIVERSE for the manifestation of the school.
SHE's STOKED! I am so glad I could be of service. I know she's going to be a success and I'm tickled pink to be able to grow my Vitae (CV).
Go Goddess GO!
I think the MBA is great. There are so many places to go and so much to do with it. YOu could live anywhere.
We have MBAs in environmental making changes from inside the corp structure resulting in positive change...turning it inside out. Like the alien baby in the Sigourney Weaver movies. HAHA!
Your assignment bring you all of those ideas and prosperity to be...and an A to boot. Abundance city.
Hope you had a great visit with your family...we'll meet another time I hope! We'll dance under the moon. :)
I have received a small amount of abundance which I am hoping will grow. Our office has lost several clients because of the economic down turn in the housing market (we had a lot of home builders as clients). I told my boss yesterday our only hope is to try to attract some medical professionals. I also told him that I would personally like to have some of the naturopathic/holistic providers because that's what I believe in.
Lo and behold, today we get a new client. A holistic practioner that teaches RAW FOOD courses. I told my boss I don't think I will have any trouble connecting with this client.:D
Well it was a bumpy road, they left before I finished the original project, but they came back. I finished the project and they seem happy. I really wanted to keep this client because I believe in what they are doing. :D
SO I had $4500 dollars budgeted to pay for international travel tickets and then the breaks went out on my truck uggghhhh.
I got frustrated for a split second and then decided that we were not deferring our travel plans any longer and that a way would be made to cover the break cost and air tickets.
Breaks came to $350, towing $40 (reimburseable) and tickets to Egypt were $4052 (for 4 roundtrip). In the same week hubby got a random visa gift card for $25. Woo hoo we are ahead over $100 bucks plus we got a safer vehicle to boot!!!
Better than all this we are stopping ( inconvenient for some, bonus for us) in Frankfurt, Germany enroute to Egypt and back. Can you say sight seeing while we wait:cool::cool::cool:!!!
This is so cool because on my 40 things to do by 40 years old list I wanted to travel to at least 2 continents and have friends on five!!!
Yes the same ones. I was really celebrating yesterday. It was funny because earlier in the day I was having trouble of thinkings reasons to be appreciative (I'm in a lot of pain from my arthritis) and then it hit me that his was one thing I could be really happy about.
Wooo Hoooo
Gotta love how someone elses excess becomes my mini vacation and abundance.
Headed to LA in October. Revvell let me know what you got shaking and baking around 10/16 - 10/19. Tickets already gifted ,working on free/ discount hotel and rental car now.
Also my Adjunct Faculty position has been humming right along, raise freezes the entire 2 years I've been there. So I give a fair nights work for a fair night pay and spend my extra time with my own continuing ed.
The college reimbursed me once for grad classes and I've been approved for another reimbursement scheduled to be paid in Nov. Besides all this free loot I can have another $500 just for doing a free to me online class for a credential offered by some publisher.
GETTING PAID TO BUILD MY RESUME!!!
So the first reimbursement already amounted to more than the average annula raise given to PT faculty and the next will have me surpassing the FT rais benchmark. THe icing on the cake is that all this loot is TAX FREE!!!
I love the UNIVERSE idea of alternative streams of income. LOVE IT!!!!
There's always been more than enough out there, always has and always will...
I wont do a zoo. Might be willing to go to the Wild Animal Park.
Let's see where we are when it's closer to the time but, I'm pretty sure we can find SOME time to hang out ~ maybe at the beach. :D
Change in dates DD "needs" a tonsilectomy around the second week of November so post poning trip til then I think.
I was so suppose to be in LA by thie Wed or Thurs but...
Glad I'm flexible, gives me time to refocus some business efforts during my fall break and make plans for some classes I will begin offering in late Jan.
I've been away from LA to long, so my return visit is overdue but the timing of which I'm sure will be purpose and bliss filled.
Ok so back ebfore I was given the coprorate boot...LIBERATED I use to spend like $75-$85 per visit on my hair. Got a lot of hair and it needed a lot of love to keep up with the copr image thang. So anyway followign the liberation the first thing I did was let the investment in hair go.
Anyway sometime last year I was admiring someones hair and found out her sister was a reasonably priced stylist. Since my hair had been unloved by a pro for a while I started indulging myself again.
She did a wonderful job but was always late and the time it would take took her to do my hair was very unpredictable. You kow contigent upon how hard she had partied the night before.
So towards the end of last year I put out another request to the universe. A wish that I could afford to get my hair done more often and faster.
Well it's dawne on me that I never thanked the universe for the awesome fulfillment of my request. Now I get my hair done for $8 plus a tip at a new local beauty college. Oh and today was half price day so I added a trim. Last month they were doing a food drive and I got a free pedicure just for bringing in a can of pineapples.
Fabulous how often times our increase comes from a savings!!!!
DD18 has been having difficulty find a summer job totie her over til college starts in late AUG.
I encourage herto spend her efforts making request from the universe and applying for more schoalrships.
She just secured anohter $500 for a 3 sentence essay response show wrote.
Made close to $100 tax free this weekend plus got a free froz. dessert sample just passign out coupons.
Will make another $75 in a few weeks giving out flyers at an American idol gig
Has $1500 grant pending
To top it all off she gets to go to the Y without rushing off to flip burgers somewhere. All the fast foodjoints in the area have turned her down because she can't commit long term they don't want to invest the teim in training for a 2 month employee. DUH how much training does McNasty require?!?! None the less she is a vegetarian so at lease she doesn't have to subject ehrself to gross fast food smells.
