Fruit leather! That is the quickest, easiest and YUM-oh (ist) food.

Take whatever fruit - say bananas. Food process them, spread them out on the teflex sheets and dehydrate until can be peeled away. Roll up and eat - OR make a filling and make crepes! Do you have Alissa's book?

Thanks! yes, I do have the book. I just got it last week (when I started raw).

I think my kids will love this!

Oh man! I am sure glad I got the 9 tray! I filled it up in 10 min.!

Now I wish it were faster! I have more things I want to get going on!

For my first time I just filled it with sliced apples, an orange, carrots and 3 trays of potato (only one potato sliced very thin.) I am hoping to get DH to eat these instead of potato chips! I also did a tray of cilantro.

Tonight I will put on some of the fruit leather and leave it overnight.

I would love to try some crackers/bread tomorrow. I am going to get the recipes together tonight as I may need to soak something overnight.

Can you tell I am excited?

Dawn

2-4 bananas
1-2C flax seeds
1/2C-1/4C coconut meat or young
Optional- Dates-Raw honey-Cinnimon

Process and spread. I use these when on long bike rides like cliff bars etc.
great with almond butter and honey too, tastes like banana bread.

Hi DawnW, congrats on your new dehydrator. When I got mine, it really helped me to include more raw in my diet.

Here is a recipe for you to try. I have made it many times!

Coconut Macaroons: Originally posted on the board by JEN

2 1/4 cups shredded coconut (the kind in the package, without sugar of course)
2 Medjool dates
1/2 cup honey (I used a little less agave)
1 tsp. vanilla

Blend ingredients in food processor. Roll into small balls. Flatten to about 3/4 inch thick. Add more honey to mixture if, when you make a ball out of it, it doesn't easily stick together.

Dehydrate at 105 degrees for 6 -8 hours (longer if you want a crunchy outer shell and chewy inside - either way is good).

Personally, I only use about two-thirds of the sweetner called for, as they are plenty sweet. Enjoy!

Blessings and peace,

Marcia

EASY FLAX CRACKERS!!

Soak flax overnight. Spread on your texlflex sheet. Sprinkle with seasonings. Some that I like are:
sea salt (a must for me)
italian seasoning
garlic powder
nutrional yeast

My FAVORITE: sea salt, italian seasoning, nutritional yeast!!

I soak my flax overnight, spread the crackers in the morning (sprinkle seasonings) and at the end of the day, or early afternoon, flip your cracker over. (the easiest way to do this is to slide the regular sheet out from under the texlflex. Put the regular sheet on top and flip. Then peel the texflex off the top) THEN, I dehydrate until crispy, sometimes overnight again.....DH who is NOT raw, loves these crackers!!!

Good luck!

I have also made a chili flax cracker by blending my favorite chili (no grains) recipe, and after letting my flax soak overnight, I mixed the chili into the flax goo....then dehydrate. I even coated this cracker with nutritional yeast, these had a wonderful flavor!!
