View Full Version : Juicer or Food Processor?
Sorry if this has been asked a gazillion times... I'm just starting to get into the raw eating lifestyle and would am not sure where to start in terms of getting a Juicer first, or a food processor. I currently have a pretty good blender! What is more adventageous? Can you use a juicer for more than just juicing?!!!
Also, anyone have a good green smoothie recipe they can start me off with while I wait for Alissa's book to arrive?! :) (um... I can't get kale here though... or celery, or broccoli!) :(
Thanks! I'm really excited about eating raw! :D

Kloe - first off welcome!
Second - food processor - definitely! You will be able to create much, much more with it then a juicer.
Green smoothie recipe, huh? Take your favorite fruit smoothie - say for instance strawberries and bananas. Add some water, some ice if you'd like, then add a couple spinach leaves or greens of your choice, I say spinach because they are MILD and a sweetener if you want it sweeter, blend it and WHAM! You got a powerhouse! Keep it simple. You can always go hard core later. Meaning adding stronger ingredients.
Any fruits can be added. Any veggies can be added (like cucumbers, collard greens, etc.). BUT, make it something you are going to like to drink, or you won't drink it...
Start out with a little of the green - you really won't taste it. This too you can always added more if you like.
Good luck!

Food processor, definitely.
You can get a lot of your questions answered in my free ebook on my site. "10 most asked questions about raw foods".... that was one of them methinks.
