I am thinking of getting a good binder and some sheet protectors and getting a recipe binder going.
What do you guys do?

That's a great idea! I have two huge (like 3 inch 3-ring binders) and 25 raw recipe books. I have a shelf in my kitchen that I store these. But you know? I always seems to navigate back to Alissa's! :D

25? wow!
I now have Alissa's, although I really wish it were spiral bound! I just ordered another and would like to get Juliano's.
but there are so many online too!

I got a photo album and I put my recipes on 3x5 cards and slip them into the slots just like a photo....it stores alot. Sometimes I don't even put them on the cards and just slip in the paper I quickly scribbled it on.

I have a mess is what I have. I have several raw recipe books and lots of loose paper in a folder. I've written on the folder, recipes that I find online but it is really not functional as I spend a lot of time looking for where I wrote "that recipe". Sifting through papers is time consuming. Your idea sound great! Think I will join you before I drive myself crazy looking for stuff.

I print out the recipes to put into a big binder; but for those recipes I want to use right now I laminate them and they sit on top of my dehydrator in the kitchen. That way if they get soiled I can wipe them up and they are good as new. Once I am walking properly again, I will transport my binder into the kitchen and keep it next to my cookbooks on the shelf.
Hopefully my new printer will arrive soon and I can get more recipes printed. I wore my other printer out from printing all the wonderful recipes!

I'm thinking of getting a larger binder to store all of my raw-related materials in.
Binder sounds great for recipes..you can use tab dividers for dehydrated foods/nondehydrated, desserts, salads, dressings ,etc.
I think I'm going to organize something online also -eventually

Actually, I recounted and I have about 34 of them! :o BUT, I got a lot - most of them from folks selling them cheap, like half price AND I asked for them for presents - birthday, Christmas, etc. I made a "wish list" of the ones I wanted. PLUS, I knew I'd never be going back to SAD/CRAP foods and wanted (and still do) read all I can about raw...
The lamination sounds wonderful - never thought to do that to some of the old standby favs - like the eggless "egg" salad, nacho cheeze, etc. Great, great idea!
I know Alissa has taken into consideration all the ideas folks have provided her as to how to even improve her next book. Hers stays on my counter.

The binder and sheet protector sounds like a great idea, right now I find a lot of recipes online so I have put them into a document in Microsoft Word and catogorized it... once I feel like I have enough I'm going to print out the pages, and laminate them

You know what else, we can buy those plastic inserts..might be cheaper than laminating (at least for me) from a department store or office supply store. I might due that, that way I can take the recipes out in case someone sees something they like, it will be easy to run through the copier. I'm the type of person who'd probably end up categorizing by colors and categories of foods and events, etc. Right now, I'm collecting still and will probably store online and will create some sort of binder as a backup.
recycling goddess-
I've heard of that program and researched a couple of others. The programs look really neat...

I made my own index book. Now I am organized. I went through all my raw food cook books, and binders where I keep recipes I have found on-line, and I typed out the main ingredients in the recipes, the name of the recipe or description, and used a code for which book and page they are located in. I put a star behind ones I have tried and liked, but also included recipes that I would like to try. My word processor sorted them alphabetically by the main ingredients. I printed the pages, and bound it with those plastic binders.
So now, when I come home with say green beans, or persimmons, or whatever, I can look up in my index book that category, and know where ALL the recipes are that have that ingredient in it. What a time saver - and it helps me be more creative.

I'm anti-plastic ;) so I use the old fashion method of index cards in a wooden recipe box I picked up at an antique store. The box came with dividers for: cakes, beans, desserts, entrees, soups, puddings, salads, sauces, vegetables. There are also ones for fish and poultry, so I have just turned those around and written on the back things like : beans, and crackers.
