I am talking about $50 or less here.
I like the one Alissa recommends, but some people have commented that it really doesn't do high volume well and may not be the best performance of the lower end. Of course, everyone recommends a different brand/kind and I haven't found a place to actually compare these other than online and relying on others' opinions.
I thought this might be a better place to get opinions.
What do you use????
Thanks!,
Dawn

The one on Alissa's appliance page looks like the one I have. Mine is the Joyce Chen spiral slicer and I personally don't care for it. It is very flimsy and next time I will get the more expensive model, Saladaco, or whatever it's called.

I didn't mean that the one Alissa recommends IS the Joyce Chen. I just meant that it LOOKS like it.

I believe that IS the Joyce Chen one on the website.

I thought the slicer on Alissa's website was the Saladacco because that's the one she mentions in her book, but I guess it's not. Whatever spiralizer is on her site is the one I have and it works just fine for me. I assume by "high volume" you mean spiralizing a lot of food at once and having the product work well all the way through and/or having the product itself last through a lot of use. I can't comment about that because I haven't used mine a lot but it has worked well for me so far. I just don't get the vibe that Alissa would sell low-quality products on her site. Maybe others have been too rough with it. This is speculation. Good luck and sorry I wasn't of more help!

I wasn't implying that Alissa was selling low end stuff, sorry it came across that way.....I was going by reviews on Amazon.
I think I will do a little more research and see what I come up with. I am not buying this until summer probably anyway (just purchased a dehydrator and slicer and that was all the budget allowed!!!!)

I have 8 people in my family so I understand about high volume. If I get a saladaco I would want to make sure that it could handle doing enough spiralling for 8 people..

I just want to clarify that I wasn't saying that Alissa would recommend lousy products. I was just saying that the one I have is flimsy and fragile. It has this little pin in it and it comes out very easily. It would be easy to lose the pin and then you have an appliance that does nothing. For the $30.00 I spent plus shipping, I expected something a little more substantial.
