I've got an older Vitamix, the kind with the metal canister. It works great and I love it, but there's a little bit of a residue building up on the inside from daily green smoothies. I rinse it thoroughly every time I use it, and usually blend a bit of soapy water in it, so I feel like it's pretty clean -- but there's still that subtle bit of residue. How do I clean that off?

If you're got an old-style Vitamix, how do you clean it? I don't have the manual.

Thanks!

I don't have an old one, but I'd bet that if you did some white vinegar and water and RAN it it would maybe clean it. 'Ya think? Maybe scrub with a fine sponge? Don't know...

I would boil up some water; add some white vinegar as Lucy said; pour it in the container, let it sit for awhile, blend up the vinegar/water solution, then take a bottle brush and have at it.
