i wear a good amount of makeup and to take it off i use lever bar soap on a wash rag. i know this is probably harsh on my face but i dont know what else to use that will take the makeup off as efficiently raw or not any suggestions?

Olive oil! Takes off makeup in a flash! Normally, I only wear eye makeup, but recently I was in a stage production at my college of Amadeus and we had to wear makeup all over our faces. At night after the show, though, all I had to do was put a few drops of olive oil in my hands and rub it on my face and rinse--very simple! and easy on your face too :D :D

You can use natural oils and there are also many organic, natural alternatives to chemically-laden toiletries and cosmetics. You don't want to use harsh products which strip the acid mantle from your skin. They're also not environmentally friendly. I think everything we use should be edidble.

Please explain the "acid mantle"? I thought we were supposed to try for alkaline - or is that just inside?
