Hi all,

I experimented with the raw food lifestyle 4 years ago and felt amazing while eating high raw. My initial attraction to this lifestyle was to overcome an eating disorder and possibly cure my hypothyroidism. After being on meds for 5 years, I was tired of being tired. I quit taking my synthroid and begun eating high raw for 4 months....

I got pulled away from raw. Now, 4 years later I have been guided back to this way of life.

I am 28 years old and have been a vegetarian for 15 years. I am a single mom to a great 2 year old boy. I no longer suffer from hypothyroidism or the eating disorder. However, I have severe hypoglycemia, low energy, a "sensitive" stomach and need a better outlook on things.

I am looking forward to getting support and supporting others as I have done in the past through this message board.

Have an exhilirating day! L

Welcome! I'm actually in the position you used to be in: I have an eating disorder and Hypothyroidism. I'm eating 100% raw in order to cure myself of those two things, as well as depression/anxiety. I'd like to go off of my Synthroid one day too, as well as my other meds :(

Be well and good luck on this rawesome journey!! See you 'round the forum ;)

Thanks for the kind welcomes!

jacsam: Unfortunately, I do not have Alissa's book. Money is very tight and therefore I get all my raw info online.
I cured my hypothyroidism with raw foods. I had been on meds for 5 years and decided to go without and eat raw to see if it changed my lab results. After 6 months, they were normal.
As far as the eating disorder, I credit my son for that. He is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me and I appreciate my body so much more now that it produced him :D
Take care.

Hello everyone!! I am very happy to be on the board! I am on my 19th day 100% raw. It has been great. But the detox has been tough the last 5 days. I got the stomach bug and now I had a massive head cold. I am just getting better over the head cold but still feel crappy. I think the head cold is just the detox. The bug was having 4 kids and them sharing;) ...

Well I am 30 and a single mother of 4 kids. I am an angel reader and alternative healer. About a year ago I heard of this way of life through Doreen Virtue who is now 100% raw. It resonated with me but I still was eating very horribly!! So I started with becoming a vegetarian and then eliminating soda, caffeine and other toxins. Then I heard the univesre's signs pointing me in this direction again. SO decided to listen. It has been easier than I thought until this head cold. This has not been fun. I have not taken any medication though. Reading Alissa's book has been heaven sent and extremely helpful.
I look forward to meeting all of you and continuing my journey with all of you.. Be love, love on
