Has anyone ever used walnuts or almonds in the above recipe?
Thanks.
Sue.

I am actually making this tonight for dinner. I am using the cashews because I think what you want is a creamy consistency and I don't think you'll get that with almonds , Brazil nuts or walnuts. Macadamia nuts will give you that creaminess so you might try those. I don't have to soak them as long it seems as the other kinds of nuts.

Okay then SuzyQ - I will hold off until I get more cashews! Thanks so much.
Sue.

I substitute sunflower seeds for all my raw food recipies and they are SO cheap and taste very very good!!

Great idea, Betsy! I didn't know if they would be creamy in consistency. I'll try that next time since you've tested the waters, so to speak!

I used cashews. I will try sunflower seeds later, becuase they are cheaper depending on how often you eat the salad and how many people are eating it with you. If you are alone, then cashews can be done in moderation.

Wait...would cashews make the eggless, or chicken salad and the sunflower makes the tunaless salad?

Of course! I think I read that somewhere before but this old brain is like a sieve (hopefully getting better with raw food though). I will definitely use sunflower seeds as I am on a tight budget at the moment. Thank you very much for sharing Betsy.:)
