made some out of almonds/walnuts, celery, onions & poultry seasoning with some garlic powder and some flaxseed oil. It was delicious, especially after a couple of days sitting in the fridge. I used lots of celery & onions because I eat so many almonds already in other stuff. I soak the onions in water for at least 1/2 hour as raw onions make me very thirsty. Soaking them takes a lot of the "bite" out of them. I thought I was pretty smart, having a SAD craving and thinking up something that turned out so good and was 98% raw! (raw except for the seasonings, that is). But I get my inspiration from a lot of you who are brave to experiment and share your results, so thank you!

That is very cool! I love that. When your body is craving something and you're able to create a raw dish to satisfy that. When I first started eating raw, after having read Alissa's book, of course I wanted to do ALL the recipes in the book, but didn't have certain things soaked or sprouted or even IN my kitchen. And then when I did have these items on hand, I would follow the recipes to a "T". Now? I throw stuff together for tastes that my body is asking for and it works!
Way to go!!!!

way to go SuzyQ....i agree with the "brave" description! I'm not there yet, still at the stage where I approach my new recipe-followed dishes like a cat getting a new meal. very trepidatious, even though 90% of them turn out delicious :D please pass along some of the brave juice to me, k?

One thing I do is I usually cut a recipe in half or even fourths if it calls for a lot of expensive ingredients. That way, if I don't like it, I'm not out $12.00 worth of stuff. I make just enough for my husband & I to try. If it's a winner, I make the whole batch next time.
