Hi there
I have been eaves dropping for about a month now and though I would introduce myself. I live in Albury Australia and have been playing with a raw food transition for about 6 weeks now after having been vegetarian for 11 years and mostly vegan for about 4 - i say mostly as chocolate is my big weakness. I have a 2 year old daughter and am doing my beest to raise her in the best way I know how so introducing her to lots of raw - she loves fruit and the banana flax crakcers I made last night (got my dehydrator yesterday). I have had a lot of health problems over the years and to cut a long sotry short I now have no spleen, gall bladder and tonsils plus have had partial kidney failure - but all this mostly when I was younger -now it is niggly stuff that I am sick of.
My question: for recipes that call for sprouted barley or buckwheat - do they have to be hulled?? I note in Alissa's sprouting table (I have her book and DVD) it refers to hulled forms but I have unhulled as I always believed unhulled grains where more nutritional. I really want to make a pizza so any advice regarding this would be great.
I plan to write on the forum more often though I also write on the Aussie forum "Raw Pleasure". I love this one and check it almost daily.
Thanks for your time and all the info I have been reading to date
P.S i am about 80% raw most days - fall off with chocolate and roast potato / pumpkin, steamed broccoli and cauli - not to bad I reckon.
