turmeric has so many great health benefits. I'd like to incorporate it in my diet moreso, but don't know what to use it in - besides mustard or curry.
anyone have any recipes to share that use turmeric? please.
or even just the name of specific recipes - I have many raw recipe books and could look up the actual recipe myself. thanks!

I don't recall tumeric have a real distinvtive taste so I guess it would work well in anyhting you don't mind seeing as yellow.
You could probably load a veggie based flax cracker with it
Brighten up a RAW Hummus with it
or added it to nut cheeses for color

I don't think it has a mustardy taste. I think it has a rather bland taste and I agree that it's basically used for color...

I thought it had a taste - but it was probably other ingredients I was tasting all along that I thought was the turmeric. hmm?
thanks for the ideas.

Use turmeric in curries. You'll need some other spices as well, but it's a main ingredient in many types of curry. You can make raw curry out of sprouted grains and seeds.

There's a bunch of turmeric in Rawvolution's Eggless Egg Salad. Pretty tasty, too.

you could make curry flavored nuts...I haven't tried it, but here's what I'd do. Soak the nuts for a few hours, sprinkle curry, tumeric, and Nama Shoyu (or other soy sauce sub. I use Bragg because my dc are allergic to wheat). I personally would add a little nutritional yeast, but that's up to you. You could also add a little lime juice for flavor, if you wish. Then pop them in the dehydrator.
You could also make curry crackers. use a simple flax recipe and mix to your personal taste, then dehydrate.

Yep... I use it in the eggless egg salad... I don't really notice a distinct flavor... mostly just the color... makes the cashews look just like egg salad! :D

It has a faintly bitter flavor. Really, you can use it in anything that you want to look yellow, like sunshine. I had it in some sunflower seed pate tonight. I love colorful things. Perhaps that's why I find raw so appealing.
