I don't consider any dried products like coconut or tomatoes to be raw unless I dry it myself (which is exactly what I do).

I really don't think they are raw at all.

For coconut oil though, I'm quite sure my source is truely raw as they say it never exceeds 100 degrees or something like that.

Most dried products they sell in stores are not actually raw. Fruits, many grains, many nuts, and yes, coconut, too are generally all dried via loads of heat. Unless, that is, unless the packaging specifically states otherwise.

That's why I started buying my coconut from Alissa. The stuff at the HFS isn't really raw.

Even if the package does state otherwise, it's often meaningless, as "raw" is not a controlled term, in fact most things I see labeled raw really aren't (almond butter, almonds, cane sugar, etc).

ok,but what they are saying is, if the coconut products ARE truely raw....there is big risk for disease.....

I'm aware of that, and perhaps I should clarify: Just because a package uses the term "raw" does not mean that they, in my opinion, are SPECIFICALLY stating that the product is raw. There are products out there that SPECIFICALLY state that what you're getting. Usually there are references to something such as, "No ingredients in this product have been heated above 43 degrees". That counts as specific in my mind.
