Hello whyhellochello!

Star tells me you have a question about juice fasting and smoothies.

Simply answer: No... they are not the same

When one fasts, the idea is not to include solids. You are fasting essentially to remove the burden of digestion so your body can focus on repairing ailments. Because your body is not longer receiving bulk, the digestive tract along with many other organs in your body kinda take a "vacation" from their normal jobs and start to work on getting rid of the toxic matter that has been building up for many many years. Juice fasting (or feasting) is fasting in all sense of the word. You are not consuming any solid material, thereby giving the organs a break. However, you are still nourishing every cell in your body by drinking juice, more power to help repair the body. Now when I say juice I mean vegetable juice and fruit juice that has been strained of ALL pulp. You only want liquid. I am currently on day 11 of a 92-day Juice Feast.

Smoothies on the other hand contain the bulk. Nothing wrong with that.... I love green smoothies!!! Again, if you are fasting and your goal is to fast (eliminate solids), then green smoothies will not get you there.

SO I hope I answered you questions..... But I have one for you.

What is your goal? Do you want to fast to rid toxins for the body? What are you trying to accomplish?

Eating raw in general has helped my psoriasis, but i just want to feel all clean inside :) ya know?? i believe my psoriasis is from a leaky gut, and i hope juice fasting will help repair that..what do you think? :) im excited to hear some more knowledge..! lol

Your so welcome!

Ben from Ottowa, Canada has severe psoriasis.... please read his juice feasting blog here...... A JUICY CONSPIRACY (http://juicyben.blogspot.com/). He is nearing the end of a 92-day juice feast. I highly recommend you read the entire blog.... start at day 1. Very informational and since the two of you share psoriasis.... I thought he could help you.

Best of Luck.
