I wanted to make a sunflower pate and so I started to make the one in Alissa's book on page 384. But I was not reading carefully and I have been soaking 3 cups of hulled sunflower seeds instead of 3 c of sunflower seeds for sprouting.
So I'm thinking that this recipe won't work now. What I want is a pate that tastes lemony and garlicky and can be used in wraps or with chips or veggies.
I did use the banana search and didn't find anything. Any ideas to rescue my 3 cups of sunflower seeds?
Thanks so much in advance! Anita

Okay...were your seeds the ones in the hull/shell or out of the hull/shell?
As long as they are the ones out of the hull, you'll be fine. Sometimes the whole "hulled" thing gets confusing because some think it means their IN the hull and some say it means they have been...hulled...as in removed from the hull.

Yes I am confused about this! They are raw seeds that you can eat right out of the bag.
The recipe sounds like these seeds are supposed to actually sprout, which I assume could only be the black seeds you would plant?
Great picture, by the way!

No, they don't have to be the ones in the shell (the black ones). The ones that are out of their shell are fine and they will sprout (as long as they're raw). But just for the record, you don't have to sprout 'em...soaking is good enough. But if you were to leave those soaked, drained seeds sitting out for a day or overnight, you'll see the tails that sprout out!
So, again, if the ones you have are NOT inside of the shell/hull, then you're just fine and your recipe is a go!
And thanks...by the way!:o :p
