So I've decided to go with a Vitamix for all my juicing and blending needs.

Where's the best (cheapest?) place online to get one?

I did a lot of searching and ended up with the conclusion that every place but Vitamix usually has their products shipped from Vitamix's own warehouse... and the prices are all close to the same. You could always search amazon or just google and see what you come up with.

I ended up buying mine from Alissa Cohen... And I hate to be the one to break the news -- but since this is her forum, it's not okay for others to post links or real competition to her store.

Although I think if people have ideas on where to get it used that would be okay.

I hope that's helpful to you in some way. :)

After buying a blender from an online store, I discovered that I'll never purchase from someone other than the company who makes it. If you end up with a defective one like I did, you might run into problems. I got shorted $350 for my blender that was broken after the company refused to take it back. Next time I'd pay the extra $50 and buy it directly from the manufacturer so that I know I can be refunded if a problem occurs.

Good luck!

Raene -- This is not in any way to minimize your experience. Because your experience truly sucked!

BUT I have heard many times that Vitamix is amazing about honoring the warranty etc. no matter where you buy their products. It is still good to buy from someone you have dealt with before or know you can trust (i.e. Alissa definitely or even Amazon).

Vitamix in particular only has the very newest model on their site which seems to have some minor improvements, but it's about $100 than anywhere else. That's why I didn't suggest going straight to them.

Just some extra food for thought. :)

I think that if you want the newer model, direct from the company is a good choice but you can just search around online for the "best deal". If you want the 4500 (pay a little less and get just as good a blender) then I'd definitely recommend going through Alissa's store. As for warranty, I purchased mine through her and when I needed new blades, they (VM company) sent me new ones...no charge... because I was under warranty. No, the warranty is not as long as if you get the newer model, but it's about a few years shy of it or so.

But Eva's right...Alissa really appreciates not having direct, clickable links (or even blahblahblah.com) if they sell products she sells...in that case, Google will be your "best friend"!

I bought mine at Costco. Check with them or Vitamix to see when the next road show is in your area--save some $$$. They now have a smaller canister to fit under the cabinet that is awsome.

:) I got an email from Vitamix on Friday that there was three days left to buy a "Factory Reconditioned" white only 5200 for $399.00 total, including $166.00 in bonuses and free shipping!! That's a real bargain!!! (But I think it ends today). It includes their guarantee. The savings code is 05-0860-03-04. Just call the toll-free number on their website. I hope this helps you out a bit.;)
