There are noticable dark spots under my eyes. They are not coming from the surface of my skin. This is from the inside. I'm wondering about the cause. What is my body missing? Should I take a particular supplement?

Are they tiny little red spots? I find that if I consume alot of fats, or OD on nuts, these occasionally appear under my eyes....
One possibility is sodium-potassium imbalance. Have you been eating a lot of fruit (esp. bananas) recently?

I eat an ample amount of fruit, but not excessive. There are no red spots, just a darkness under my eyes. Someone recommended an herbal tea that acts as a blood cleanser. I'll try that and see what happens. Also, I"m thinking I might try a multi-vitamin.
Make sure you are balancing the fruit potassium with some organic sodium - celery is an ideal source. If you don't like eating it (though it cleans the teeth wonderfully after a piece of fruit), you can juice it, but do consume it very regularly if you like your fruit.
I vaguely recall David Wolfe discussing this, too, so you might care to read his book(s). Although I don't agree with everything he says, he is definitely one of the more intelligent and insightful writers in the raw food movement, and takes a respectable interest in the importance and significance of minerals within the body.

I used to have horrid black spots - looked like a raccoon!
Green smoothies helped.
Also up your water intake.
