Wheatgrass newbie...

I'm not sure of the best way to word this but is wheatgrass like any other sprout? Meaning, can you sprout it in a bowl just like any other grain? Or do you have to plant it? Info please folks!

You can sprout wheat like that but wheatgrass had to be planted.
