I'm curious about getting lean and toned up and have started working out at the gym, but I'm wondering about my raw food diet and how it will affect my goals. It's like my life time goal to get down to 0% body fat for like a day ( it's not safe to stay that lean for too long) just so I can enjoy that challenge and then maintain a lean but safe weight afterwards.
How can I use raw foods to help me achieve this goal?

I doubt you could do it. I think you'd die before you got that low. Your body needs SOME fat to cushion your organs and such.

I think it's not a healthy thing.

Yeah, it's not an attainable goal. Body fat surrounds your organs and maintains body temp. It's even in every cell membrane.

Why would you even want 0% body fat? It's not any status of health, it's quite unhealthy.

Ditto. Raw is about health. What you are attempting to use it for is the opposite. If "pure_happiness" means being ill or dead...

I'm working at reducing my body fat too, working out at gym, with trainer too, but I agree getting to 0% would suggest death. Feel well and use wisdom in everything ou do. We want you around for a long time--healthy too. Perhaps the gym folks can help further.

You cannot have 0% body fat and still be alive silly :p ! At 10-12% you will probably LOOK like you have no body fat, so that may be what you have in mind as a long term goal. If your diet contains no more than 10% fat, you can become very lean, depending on whether the fats you consume are healthy, how you combine foods, etc.

I just wanted to drop by and let you know that as a track runner, the lowest the fittest runners get down to is like 4 percent.
and that's if you're in incredible, i mean, INCREDIBLE shape.
0% is not possible, not good for you.
don't hurt yourself!

Oh no, not even male competitive bodybuilders get down that low, maybe 3-5% - 0%, like other posters said, would be death! That said, even an extremely lean competitive female bodybuilder will likely be 8-10% bodyfat, and that isn't something that can be maintained without being extremely stringent the whole time. Trust me, you will be in amazing shape if you get to be around 12-15%. Some of this depends on age too, as there is some natural fat build-up as we age. But it seems that a well-thought-out raw diet plus weight-training can head this fat build-up off at the pass, or at the very least slow it down to a dead crawl - LOL!

Hi

I was trying to find some information that would help you with your question.

This article talks about healthy body weights for men and women.

http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/fitnessevalandassessment/a/Body_Fat_Comp.htm

I'm not sure if you are male or female, but if you are female and in your child-bearing years, a low body weight may affect your fertility.

Fat has a purpose...there is a difference between excess fat and necessary fat. Please do not attempt to achieve a goal that is harmful, and not helpful.

I wish you well on your raw journey.
