Hi Folks, Just signed up this morning! I'm 58 and from Ohio.
Had dabbled in attempts at raw in the 80's. Even had a dehydrator... Family put up a fuss, was injured and different surgeries and still had to work full time to support three children... remarried to someone who found every which way to make a recipe unhealthy and I totally gave up!

Reached bottom in Jan. Started Qi Gong cleansing to get some kind of physical workout since I was having trouble doing a lot. Funny thing tho...it's made the foods at the house very unappealing. Found I've been craving fresh foods!! I've been changing my foods slowly the last three months and doing Qi Gong Cleansing at least 5x weekly.
I had 50 lbs. to lose (all gained after I was 45 years old and injured.) I've lost 9 lbs. and have 41 more to go! BP was 180-200/91-95~now is 150/75. Aunt had same problem when she was my age and she's still alive (83). Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma all lived to 82 and above. Interested in increasing quality of life when you have those genes!!!

Realized I needed help if I was to balance my raw foods. Alissa's book and DVD are on order and should be here this week.:)
Family not supportive~doing it anyway! The small changes already have made a difference!! I need all the help I can get!!!:o

Your family will be more supportive when they see the positive changes that are coming. Hang in there - you can do this. I am the only one raw in the house - after a while it is no big deal anymore. Good luck to you on your journey.

Hi Jessie,

I'm also from Ohio and just joined a few hours after you. I'm in Cincinnati and hoping to discover some wonderful place(s) to eat out and stay raw. It would be nice to find more than just a salad bar, and even those are not that easy to find here. Let me know if you know of any.

Best wishes on your journey to raw!

Karen
