View Full Version : How does the Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer compare to others?

I was just curious. Long before I went raw, I asked my father for a juicer for my birthday (I didn't ask for a particular brand). He bought me the Jack Lalanne Power Juicer (which I thought was one of the best at the time). Does anyone have it and what do you guys think and/or have heard about it? Does it kill nutrients? Does it really extract more juice than the average juicer? I know it doesn't make nut butters but can you juice wheatgrass with it or do you need a special type of attachment?

IMO I would start saving up for a better one if you going to be juicing on a regular basis. I too, was given one before going raw and thought it was good, but since learning more I have realized it's not as good as it claims to be. Only after I bought a better one did I realize how MUCH good stuff the Jack Lalanne spit out instead of juicing. A good juicer will spit out nearly completely dry pulp. As for wheat grass...definately not! It barely gets through the average greens let alone wheat grass. Seriously, don't even attempt it. That is actually how my Jack Lalanne met it's maker. I burned the motor out trying to do wheat grass. Oops!

Okay. Maybe I'll try selling it on eBay. Won't be able to, nor would I want to sell it on this site!

and although I am still so very new at all of this I find to be sufficient in what I need right now. I use it up to 3 times a day, it is easy to clean and the pulp may not be as dry as what the more expensive ones but it is working for me and for what I need it for. I would love to be able to get a greenstar or something of the like...but for now...the Jack Lalane works. :)

I'm very satisifed with my Jack Lalanne. I've said it many times before - it was what i could afford at the time. It was either juice from the JLL or no juice at all, so I went with JLL. Maybe someday I'll be able to afford something else, but for now, I'm happy with my JLL.:)

I have had my Juiceman II for over 10 years and it gets a good workout. It would be nice to have a machine that would do better with the greens but I have never had a problem with it. As far as the greens I was thinking of just getting a hand juicer for about 50 bucks.. Still much cheaper

I love the Breville juicer. I used to have the Jack Lalane. I like this one better easier to clean more juice.
