There are so many recipies that call for vanilla, and i've found that vanilla beans are SO expensive, and you only get one or two! Should i go for the organic vanilla extract? And if i do should i buy the non-alcoholic one, or the one with organic alcohol? (i was hesitant with the non-alcoholic one because it contains glycerine as one of the ingrediants, but i guess that in place of the alcohol)
Thanks so much!

Vanilla beans are from an orchid that grows in Madagascar, IIRC. If you buy/use beans, I think you generally only need to use a small peice at a time. Given the cost of extracts and how much you use at once, it may be a wash cost-wise, though it is easier to blend uniformly.
