I know this is a simple dish but I've never made it before so please share your recipes and how long to let it sit! Thanks!:) !

Me too! Me too! :) My DH loves cabbage and sauerkraut, so if I can make it raw, all the better for turning him onto raw! :D

I "searched" our site here and tons of talk about pickles and kraut. I posted a few myself so the links are below with recipes for both. Boutenko pickles, raw too, and delish. I am finishing up my stash made in August finally that has been refrigerated. All still great. May have lost a few pickles but hardly any in the jars. Did make tons too.

Even with the scum on some of the tops of the jars the pickles were great. Not all jars had the scum I just scraped off. It didn't affect anything even later on having a long shelf life.

Here's the Boutenko recipe link for the pickles I am bragging about and just start with less salt as you can always add more. It takes only a few days too and the taste is fabulous too.
