View Full Version : Macadamia sub for Cashews in ice cream?

I read all the time that macadamias are the richest nut and I've also read that they make a really rich cream as opposed to a milk when you blend them with water, so would using them as an ice cream base be good, or is there something flavor wise I don't know about them?

Give it a shot! I substitute between the two for various things.

I often use macs as a base for ice cream, or often mix them half and half with cashews. I'm just about to go make a chocolate mint blizzard like I posted a few days ago using macs and cashews.

how do your recipes turn out when you use macadamias, I mean does it alter the texture or flavor, is that why I don't see many ice cream recipes with macadamias?
