Hi~
Just out of curiosity I'm wondering if there are any people here who have been high raw for a while -meaning your primary diet is raw but sometimes you eat cooked when at functions or restaurants-maybe once a week or so.
If you find yourself in this category please let me know what your experience is. Do you feel like you get enough from the raw food diet?
Thanks!

indeed. i am high raw.
i was on and off with 100% raw for 2 years. the longest i was 100% raw was 6 months and it was never difficult to maintain. i eat high raw now just because i feel healthier-physically and more balanced-mentally.
i've been vegan for 7 years, so the cooked foods i eat are never from animals. actually the only cooked foods i eat are: tempeh, tofu, quinoa (cooked), steamed veggies, couscous, brown rice, and it is very rare that i eat out.
throughout the day, i typically eat one "cooked" meal, usually lunch and the other two are raw. today, for example: GS (breakfast), cooked quinoa salad with lots of fresh herbs and uncooked veggies and mango (lunch), and dinner will probably be some more mango.
this seems to be ideal for me, but certainly not for everyone. i just recommend listening to your own body.

I've been all-raw since perhaps 2001. My results have been excellent. Weight control became stable and a no-brainer, and I'm the healthiest guy I know. It's all good.

Hi there,
Not sure if you want to hear from those of us who have been 100% for awhile or not.
I was high raw raw for one year, then 100% for the last fours years.
I've had amazing physical, emotional and spiritual healing and transformations occur during that time.
Raw truly allows us to become who we were always meant to be!!!
Blessings!

Audrey, I reread your story and your transformation is absolutely amazing. In my fourth week raw, I've decided I want to stay that way past my "trial period". (I had given myself a month to try it.) I was thinking that I'd probably end up going to about 90% raw (some cooked rice and mushrooms or potatoes once in awhile and the rest raw) but after reading your story, I really want to stay at 100%. I haven't seen too many physical changes in myself yet but I can't wait to see some transformations. It'll be sweet when someone other than me comments on my changes for sure! Please tell me those dramatic changes are coming!
I'm waiting to slim down a little (not more than 10-20 pounds max), become calmer (I've already reduced my Celexa from 60mg to 40mg per day), have more energy (okay, I'm seeing that already) and lose the pain in my knees (it's on and off). In summary, the girl I want to be is JOYFUL, STRONG and BEAUTIFUL so I can serve God and my family to the full! I'm hoping raw is one of my tools to attain that! (I've also started 20-30 minutes of moderate cardio exercise at least 5 days per week.)

Hi Isabelephant -
I have been 100% raw for 2 years and have had improvements in my energy, calmness, and sleep. It is a wonderful thing!

Hi Theogirl,
Thanks so my much! You will get there if you stick with raw. Keep with it and your body, mind and spirit WILL respond, faster than you can imagine!!!
If I can do it, ANYONE can! :-)
Blessings!
