Do any exercisers here use a Caltrac? I teach weight loss classes as part of my graduate assistantship, and we have our participants use Caltracs to monitor their caloric intake/expenditure, so I decided to start using one myself just to get a better idea of what our participants experience. Well according to this thing, I'm only burning about 1300 calories a day which includes my 45 minutes of exercise every morning, yet if that were the case with the amount of food I eat, I would most likely be gaining a significant amount of weight, which I'm not. So is my reading so low because it's not taking into account muscle mass, or is a calorie really not a calorie, or is there something else going on here?
