I can't believe I did this, I just bit the bullet and ordered a Vitamix online. I'm so excited, but it sure felt weird to spend that kind of money.
last weekend I bought a B&D blender from Costco and it was a complete waste of money. I'm taking it back.

YAY!! Very excited for you!!

When I started raw I bought an Oster that I thought could do the trick, I couldn't justify the money for a Vitamix. But after a week of chunky, gritty smoothies...I ordered a Vitamix. It was the best investment I've made. I use it multiple times daily. You'll find it to be a vital part of your raw journey.

Congrats!!

Congrats for getting brave & smart at the same time! I use my Vita-Mix multiple times daily. If mine died tomorrow, I would order one the same day.

Good for you! You won't regret it. My blender has a counter - it just hit 300 and I've only had it about 5-6 weeks. I had no idea I would ever use it so much when I bought it but I use it several times a day. Congrats!

I'm afraid I didn't really shop around so I don't know what the lowest price is out there.
I ordered directly from the company (and glad I did now after reading a post about getting ripped off by an online company called Living Right).
Its the Vitamix 5000 (in black) and it was $549. I'm in Canada too, so that limits who I can order from sometimes too.

I think you can get reconditioned ones from the factory, but I'm not sure they still do that. Look at their website for the info and if you don't see it, maybe they have an 800 number. Maybe Craig's list or ebay? Newspaper adds?
