Odd taste in mouth after raw chocolate

I had a go at making some raw chocolate. I used Cacao butter, cacao powder, mesquite and agave nectar and after eating a little I have this strange taste in my mouth.... its almost.... garlic/onion-like :confused:

Is it just the mesquite or something? Or is it just me? :confused:

my guess would be that it's the mesquite. it's got a sort of funky/spicy taste.

I might try it with maca next time to see if it makes a difference :o

yeah i would say it's definitly the mesquite.... my recipes tasted funky whenever i'd add it.... i just made a batch of cacao powder, wild jungle peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla, and cacao butter.... the texture and taste was amazing! aren't raw chocolate treats incred!!??? good luck on your next batch!
