It could mean there was a mistake in the readings. 50% of tests are inaccurate which is why I stopped going to doctors. They'll scare the heck out of you with their tests and readings.

R U asking what the numbers mean? Triglycerides are the "bad" cholesterol and that number needs to be lower - less than 150. (mine was 177 and after 30 days raw was down to 76) hdl is the good cholesterol and "they" want it to be around 50 for women and 40 for men, ldl is also considered a "bad" cholesterol and they prefer it to be under 100 but under 129 is still good.
Supposedly you need good fats to increase hdl. Things like olive oil, avos, etc. Mine was 25 and after 30 days went to 27. Still very low so far as they are concerned. I am just adding niacin in and eating more of the good fats to see what happens.
I am not familiar w/uric acid or vldl at all. You may need to google those on your own.
I believe they like to see the glucose number under 110 or something like that.
All of these numbers are variable though depending on age, sex, smoking, etc. They are simply guidelines and certainly not a definite indicator that if your triglycerides are 190 instead of 165 that you will definitely fall over from heart disease or anything like that. Then again, having optimum numbers doesn't guarantee you won't either. Go figure.

VLDL Calc: VLDL= Triglycerides (http://www.vegsource.com/talk/healingheart/messages/98748.html#) divided by 5 (TG/5), then
LDL Calc: LDL= TC - (VLDL + HDL) Another way to check: Friedewald formula: LDL= TC - HDL - TG/5
Like revell said, many of us do not get terribly excited about these things. Actually, if it is something you like to use as a tool you are supposed to average the numbers over like 3 tests over a year or so. That is because so many things can affect the results. Eating. Exercise. Stress. Blinking....just kidding, not blinking. But you get the picture. Just adding fresh, whole foods into your diet or eating 100% raw and vegan will change all of those numbers for you most likely. Try it 30 days and then test again, you will most likely be very surprised by the results.
In any case, your numbers are not terrible. Don't stress, just relax and have a smoothie.
Take care!:)

There's nothing so alarming that you can't wait for your doctor to return and carefully explain the test results. Bear in mind that doctor's have a different perspective and the so-called "normal" ranges are hardly normal at all.
The uric acid level shows your body is an acidic condition and the raw diet will help you become more alkaline. Of course, you'll have to focus on fruits and veggies rather than nuts, fats, and other acid-forming foods.
Fasting glucose is high too. Avoid sweet fruits and dried fruits. These numbers should level out in a few months. My thoughts are that when you transition to a raw diet your test results can be thrown off by detox reactions which dump a lot into the bloodstream. I don't know anything about your state of health, age and prior diet and I'm not a medical professional. However, I think you should retest periodically and you'll have better numbers soon.

Some of these things in and of themselves mean nothing. I don't know about the uric acid. Mine has never been out of range. alt relates to liver. Could be any number of things but the most common is fatty liver which most likely you have if you are at all overweight. Your cholesterol is somewhat out of range. That could be due to heridity. Your fasting glucose is approaching the pre-diabetes range. They keep changing the numbers on that but I believe 110 is the cut off now for that. I think that would warrant a followup in 6 months or so.

Well, a doctor would probably tell you that you are pre-diabetic (for type 2). The lipids (triglycerides, LDL, VLDL, and low HDL) would point to a fat metabolism issue...numbers like those you would expect with a SAD diet and also with diabetes. The uric acid goes along with all of that, it does tend to creep up when the lipids and blood glucose are not tightly controlled. The liver enzymes being high could mean nothing, but most likely mean your liver is 'inflammed' or not functioning optimally. Sometimes the liver enzymes are high with such viral conditions as hepatitis, mononucleosis, and also with fatty liver (usually from alcohol, sometimes diet but not usually). Just be forewarned, your doctor will most likely try to get you on multiple medications from lab results like this. Most doctors will not believe that you can change a health issue such as this and will push for you to take medications. I would be prepared for the whole "lipitor, metformin" yada yada yada.
All in all, if I were you I would just take the numbers as a gentle reminder to take excellent care of yourself. Your numbers are not severe, but they would be an indication to take better care. Raw diet, exercise and stress relief would help a lot. You didn't indicate how you are eating now or if you had previous tests in the last couple years. You can opt for following a good diet, exercise, stress release, and all that, then get follow up tests done in 3 or 6 months to see if there is any change. 3 months would give you plenty of time to see if you can make some changes. Any doctor would be impressed if you could get any (you'd probably get ALL) of those numbers down even a little bit. Doctors are not trained about health at all, only disease. Let go, this would continue with a negative trend, but if you take treatment into your own hands, you could totally kick butt and blow your doctor away.
I wish you the best! I think you getting these results are great, actually! :D Now you have a baseline, you know what you need to do, and it is so totally doable!
Warm thoughts to you:)
